The most popular size is 3/8 inch, which means it accommodates a 3/8-inch diameter bit. Smaller ¼-inch drills are less expensive, but more limited. Heavy duty jobs might require a ½-inch model.

SOURCE: chuckless drill stuck tight with drill bit in

if you trap the chuck in a bench vice or alike and then use the drill in reverse in short bursts until it loosens a good spray with wd40 will also aid the situation

SOURCE: how the cordless drill works in drill mode,

the basic operation for the drill working in the drill only mode is you tighten the clutch up which puts more pressure on the spring not allowing the clutch to ratchet like it would in another position therefore bypassing the clutch completely. Give me the brand and model number and I will try and find a parts explosion for you.

How do I remove a broken set screw on the DW 303...the small part is still in the set screw hole

Figure out what size the hole is that set screw is in by sticking different size drill bits in the hole till you get the one that goes in and wont cut the threads. Then find that size drill bit in a reverse bit and drill into the set screw. Normally the bit will grab the set screw when you drill it and the set screw will just back out of the hole.

Kymco agility 2012,i want to put a 72cc big bore kit on it,at mo running standard 50cc carb, was told i need to up my jet size.

Use a numbered drill set, measure the jet size using the drill bit set, then select a drill bit two numbered sizes larger and drill out the main jet, that should get you in the ball park. Here is a link to a numbered Drill bit set. 60 Pc Titanium Nitride Coated High Speed Steel Numbered Drill Bit Set

Look at the wood screw threads and hold a drill bit against it. Choose a drill bit that is smaller in diameter than the threads on the screw. Works for any size wood screw.

What is the size of the replacement chuck key for the Duracraft DP514?

The 1/2 inch is the max size drill that will fit into the chuck. There are only a few different key sizes, and sears sells them in their tool area. Easiest thing to do is find the size of the hole the chuck fits into by using the back end of a drill bit that fits the best. Measure that drill bit or take it with you to the store. You might find two different size keys with that size pilot hole, or maybe only one. Good luck!

How to use?

It is used to check either the size of a drill bit or to see what size fastener you have and decide what size bit to use. Just insert a bit or fastener into a hole. It should fit snugly and if it doesn't fit the next smaller sized hole then you now know what size you have.
