You really need to be persistent. I went on the Panasonic customer support webseite and started a web exchange. The first two attempts ended with "call your local authorized service tech" , etc. The third time, I described the prolem again and asked if the authorized tech would have the tool to fix the eprom if that was the cause of the problem. They finally gave me a name for their scheduling department and said they would pay for the diagnosis. I was pretty happy about that, but even happier when they said that this was a known problem and they would pay for the repair as well. They scheduled a service call. The techs came and fixed the eprom error with their tool within 1/2 hour. That was about 5 weeks ago, and all looks good so far.
Good Day,
There is a device that can be used to correct your concerns. Symptoms can be correct by EE PROM CORRECTION TOOL:
LSUQ0100. Instructions included. Try calling 1-800-458-6053. It's under $100.00 and takes about 1 hour from start to finish.
Good Luck, big IRISH.
I had the same problem with the green and purple spots...and the purple outlines on some brightly lit screen scenes but i called panasonic and the sent a technician over and they reset the tv...with a device which panasonic actually sells...(hmm) it was done all free of cost..tv is approximately 3yrs old....tv now works great
I had the same problem and based on this forum, I phoned Panasonic service 1-800# and
mentioned the correction tool: LSUQ0100.
Even though my TV was purchased in Feb of 2006 and well out of the warranty, they put up no fuss and sent someone out from a local authorized servicer for NO CHARGE ! My two green spots and one red spot disappeared in 15 minutes.
The repair guy said that this is a design flaw. Not really a 'break'. That is why the repair is free.
Good luck.
I have had a green blotch for a long time and have contacted support. They tied me up with Emails and faxing my model numbers and all that good stuff till they just made me give up. All I got to say is FU Panasonic, I'll NEVER buy another stinking pile of monkey poo TV from you again. I've bought your stuff for years and this has made me sour as hell and totally pissed. YOU try watching a blu-ray with a frickin' green blotch on Neo's face!

my 52lcx65/pt started out with baseball size clouors on it now it outlines everthing on screen plese help
I have seen other postings of this problem and many propose a solution of an eprom upgrade. When I asked Panasonic about this directly, they said they were unaware that an eprom upgrade would solve this problem.
Are you saying that this problem can be fixed without the help of a technician? Any chance of messing it up more?
I have the same problem. It started as one green spot ... now it is several spots ... each the size of a baseball. The spots appear and disappear depending on the color of what is being shown on TV. Does anyone have experience with this suggested fix?
i have the same problem in the upper right corner i have seen the solution and i thank you but do we know why this happens thanking everyone in advance.
My PT-44LCX65 has a baseball sized pink spot in the center of the screen. TV is two years old and I replaced the lamp assembly this week when the lamp light came on. the spot is still there.
My 52" PT-52LCX65 hdtv has a blue, red and yellow spots on the screen that began appearing roughly in August, maybe July of 2008. Â The only repair alternatives I've been able to find is to have the light engine replaced for a cost near what a new tv would cost.
Don't understand why the company doesn't step up and take care - GOOD CARE - of customers.
I have had this problem twice now since I bought the TV just over 2 years ago. Fortunitly I carry a sears extended warranty on it so I was able to make my problem theirs for no additional charge. Last year they replaced the entire lamp engine, very costly. Almost 1 year later it happened again, this time panasonic told them it was a simple eprom update which they did yesterday and the problem is fixed. So the EPROM update does work.
i have the exact same problem. there are red lines and green and blue spots all over my tv and it is only a little over a year and my warranty is up.. is there anything that will fix this because i went back to the store i bought it from and they said that they couldnt do anything..any suggestions
Service Shop just told me that in 80% of the cases, the LSUQ0100 will solve the color spots issue. Sometimes it can be the a damaged circuit. Cost is $175.00 for the visit, and the EEPROM update procedure is usually $150.00 more. However, they said Panasonic is extending the warranty an extra 12 months for this.
However I purchased my TV on mid 2006, which makes it 2.5 yers old.
The problem seems to worsen when you crank the brightness and/or sharpness up.
Lucky me, I purchased an extended 3yr Sears warranty. They'll come in 2 weeks to check it out.
If you purchase a Panasonic, add the service plan.
Same deal. 3 pink spots, toward the middle-right side of the tv, and going towards the lower right corner of the tv. It gets worse depending on what colors are being broadcast.
i have blue and green spots on my tv and the picture has moved to the lift about 3 in. it's on a pt-52LCX65 52. what can i do?
I have the same problem. Started as one blue spot. I am now the proud owner of four blue spots.
