SOURCE: A460 lens error, restart camera

The following blog outlines some repair options for a lens error. They won't work for all cases, but they're worth a try if the camera's no longer under warranty:

SOURCE: FinePix A500 Fuji camera "focus error"

Check out this link: www.digitalcamera-hq.com/digital-cameras/fuji-finepix-z1_question.html?qid=4289
After the basics, try dropping the camera on a carpeted area from about 2-3 feet. It worked for my Fuji Finepix A500 and 90% of the responders on the link. Everything on the web said it would cost ~$100 to fix. I was in the process of researching new cameras to buy and had nothing to lose by dropping it on the floor.
The error may be caused by debris in the zoom mechanism preventing it from working. Dropping the camera loosens the debris and voila!

SOURCE: focus error

hi...The transmission system that moves the lens in and out has a problem with it's gears. There is most likely a gear or an actuator that has fallen out of alignment and is getting stuck at a certain point as the lens comes in/out.There is some disturbacnce of the lens arrangement that is preventing the lens from coming in/out.Any of these symptoms above could trigger the camera to shut itself off to protect itself from further damage. thank u rate me!!!

SOURCE: Lens error, restart camera

Lens error is usually caused by mechanical faults concerning lens assembly. The lens cannot extend or retract fully, the error is detected and lens error is returned.
Sometimes this can be fixed playing with the lens during extraction or retraction to help the lens asset getting back to normal.
More often the camera lens must be disassembled and re-assembled by a technician to fix the problem.

SOURCE: fujifilm finepix a820 zoom error

Hi,
This problem is related to the malfunctioning of zoom motor, Two possibilities are there,
1- If company provides technical help on component leve in your regionl then zoom motor may replace.
2- If component level support is not available then LENS ASSEMBLY must be replaced.
Contact your nearest fuji service centre or contact any expert nearby for the specific part replacement.
    Thanks for using fixya.

How to Take a Screenshot on Sony Xperia Z1

1) Go to the display or the screen in your Sony Xperia Z1 which you want to capture.
2) Take a screenshot. Press the Volume Down button on the side and the Power button for about 2-3 seconds. Make sure that both the buttons are pressed TOGETHER, otherwise it won't work.
3) View your screenshot. You will immediately hear a clicking sound, confirming that the screenshot has been taken. You may also see the text "Saving your screenshot" on your phone's display during the process.
To view your screenshot, click on the screenshot notification in the notification tray or simply go to your Photo Albums and you will find the screenshots in a folder named "Screenshots."

I have a Canon PowerShot A430 camera. When I turn it on, the lens doesn't open and it shuts off. The message on the screen says " Lens error, restart camera." Please advise. Thanks

Hi,

The Lens Error is displayed on the LCD screen when the Lens Mechanism is stuck or when affected by any malfunction. If turning the power on and off again does not resolve the error message, try doing a power reset and Initialize option.
Performing a manual power reset
Turn off the camera.
Remove the battery pack.
Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
Allow the camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.
Reinsert the battery pack.
Turn on the camera.
You can reset the Camera back to factory default by performing the following steps:
Press the power button.
Press and hold the MENU button for more than 5 seconds. Default Settings will get displayed.
Use the arrow buttons to select OK and press the FUNC./SET button. This will reset all the settings back to factory deafult.
This should resolve the issue. If the issue persists, service may be required.

I have Panasonic digital camera DMC-LC80. When I turn on camera, it turns off, and on display write "please turn off and on the camera again". I do it, but on display this write again and...

Mine does exactly the same - still holds all it's stored photos but seems to struggle to focus when turned on, then gives up & comes up with the 'turn camera off' message. Get the feeling it's something to do with whatever makes the camera focus.

I receive the E:61:00 error on screen, and the screen will not focus. I shook the camera around (per forums) and the screen focused for a minute, but would not zoom in out out. When I tried to zoom either...

Hi,

The E:61:00 error code displayed on the Camera screen indicates that a Camera malfunction that you cannot reverse has occurred. This seems to be an internal malfunction of the Camera. You may try power resetting the Camera. To power reset the Camera, turn off the Camera and remove the battery pack. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Remain the Camera without power for 60 seconds and reinsert the battery.
If the issue persists, service may be required as this is an internal malfunction

My daughter(5) dropped it and when they turned it on the lens came out and won't go back in.And on the screen it say "Focus Error".Can it be fixed or should I get her a replacement?

Lens errors (focus error's on Fufi's) are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ... Unfortunately, many cameras that fall prey to this can only be corrected by professional repair. But, here are some things that you can do that may correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try.

Focus Error

It's a message given when the internal lenses get jammed, possibly due to debris within the gears that move the focus. The "Focus Error" message can involve many FujiFilm models.

Camera error

The problem is the internal focus lens is either stuck, or knocked out of alignment. The lens will need to be serviced, or replaced with a new (not cost effective), or good used lens assembly.
