On the opening screen of iPaq Backup there's a line, "File," where the backup's filename appears, and a little box with 3 dots. Tap that little box and you'll get a menu allowing you to set the location.

How to reset nokia e71

Warning

Please back up all the data on your Nokia E71 and the memory card before resetting the phone (if you do not know how to back up your personal data on the Nokia E71 give me a shout). There are lots of caseswhere users have reset their phone and realized later that they have lost all their personal data.
How to do a hard reset of Nokia E71

  • Switch on the phone
  • While the phone is the standby mode enter this code *#7370#
  • The phone would ask for a password, the default password is 12345 unless you have changed it before.
  • That is it you are done

But I do not want to loose my personal data

You might want to restore the factory settings of the Nokia E71 but you might not want to loose the personal data on the phone. This can be done by doing a 'soft reset'.

Warning
Do not do a soft reset without backing up data on your phone and the memory card as backing your phone data is a good practice even if you are doing a 'soft reset'

To do a 'soft reset'

  • Switch on the phone
  • When the phone on the standby mode enter the code *#7780#
  • The factory settings would be restored and there will be no data loss.
  • Voila

Alternative method for hard reset of Nokia E71

There is alternate method to do a hard reset is prescribed as well. The steps involve

  • Switching off your phone
  • Press the *, 3 and the green key on the phone while starting the phone (do not ask me how, because when I tried I could not do it! and if you are successful then you should apply for a prize from Nokia)
  • The phone will ask for a password which by default is 12345 if you have not changed it in the past.

I would like to remind readers again to backup their personal data from the phone and the memory card before trying to do a reset of their Nokia E71.

I cant find my memory card datas

Try to power cycle phone first.
1. Turn off phone.2. Remove battery, memory card and SIM card.3. Wait for 2 minutes before you plug back everything.4. Try to browse the phone and check the availability of your memory cards data.5. If still non existing, try to insert a different memory card in the phone and try to check the availability of the second memory card inserted in the phone.6. If non existing data still for the second memory card, hard reset the phone then all of the incorrect and existing settings on the phone will be deleted automatically.7. On the number keypad, type *#7370# then select "YES".8. All of the settings and data on the phone will be deleted but not those on the memory card but it is still advisable if you will have a back up still of the phone data that you have.9. After hard resetting the phone, you should be able to view the files of your memory card on the phone for the phone is currently restored to factory defaults if not try to use the second memory card and for sure it will work this time for the reason might be possible memory card corruption issues.

My sony ericsson c510 cannot locate my memory card.i checked my memory card in a pc and it was ok.but when i insert it on my phone it says memory card not inserted..help me please

I know this a dumb question but is the card an M2. This is what Sony phones use looks simular to micro but its different card.first try taking the battery out of your phone then reinstall it if this doesnt work and If it is an M2 and your computer recognizes it WARNING!!!! WARNING backup anything you want saved from the card and reformat it WARNING!!! If you do this without backing the info it will be lost FOREVER!!! once its formated put the blank card in if it works then you should be able to format the card while in the phone I would do this. Then try putting the info back on the card and see if your phone recognizes it if not then there maybe a file thats causing the compatibility issue.

My nokia n7o has a problem....if i store more than 100 song in my memory card music player doesn't open...how can i solve this problem???

back up your phone using Nokia Pc Suite or to the memory card.
after backing up all info e.g. contacts, messages, music etc. remove memory card.

you can try to reset to factory settings by pressing *#7370# and it will ask for security code the default security code is 12345, if you changed use the security code you set.
the device will restart after it restart it will ask you to enter info needed after its done setting it up.

open the music player and check if it will open. if it does insert the memory card and try to play the song if it does then restore your back up to your device

hope this help.

Hp iPAQ h1945 won't start

Hello and sorry for the delay.

the h1945 series is a very intresting pda. I have seen all sorts of problems relating this one. There are some things you may want to try. Based on that knoledge I may be able to find what's rong with your unit.
First, check if the back cover fits tight on the back of the unit. It's important because on some ipaq models, there is a small micro-contact that doesn't allow the unit to power on if the back cover isn't attached. I'm not sure if the 1945 has one, it's been 2 years since i've last phisically repaired one of these, but you may look for one yourself. It's a small contact near one side of the back opening, check to see if it can be pressed. If you don't have anything like this just ignore this tip.
Second, leave the pda connected to the charger for about 6 hours. Even if it doesn't do anything. Then try to start the bootloader by pressing the 2 outer keys near the D pad (simillar to the hard reset procedure) then, while keeping those pressed, press the power button and in the same time press the soft reset button with your stylus. You must do this with your charger connected to the pda. It may be difficult to achieve in the first try. Just try to do this a few times and if the pda doesn't respond even now, please post back. Furthermore, if you need more info about these 2 tips please reply.

Hi,

Chances are that the software on your phone has become corrupted. I would advise doing a master reset on the phone and see if the problem persists. If that doesn't help...probably the card slot has malfunctioned. Most probably a reset will slve the problem. Good luck!
