Clean the contacts on the rear of the face of the CD player with tissue paper, hopefully the problem is due to a bad connection. However if it still does not work then the problem lies elsewhere. You may need to claim warranty support as it is possible that the LCD display has died, or the system is experiencing either hardware or software failure.
Check the manual for a reset sequence, it may have one.
Take care!

Sounds like you have power to the BATTERY wire (yellow), but not he SWITCHED 12 VOLT lead (red). Try temporarily connecting the red wire to the same wire as the yellow one. If it suddenly works, you need to run a new switched lead to the red wire (or check the fuses in the vehicles fuse box to see if one is blown).
What kind of vehicle are you installing into? With a Delco radio, it's got to be a GM product, but what make and model? Also, did you buy an adapter harness or did you cut the factory connector off the wires in the dash and connect directly to the bare wires?
Oh, and NO, the radio does NOT ground through the antenna! That is a quick way to destroy the radios tuner!

Hi,
If you can hear the cd player boots up then that it a confirmation that your unit has power. If the display don't light up, then the problem is a contact point in the face itself. If you know ow to take off the face and clean and align the contacts, test if it resolves your problem. If not, the only way to know for sure is to find a local car audio shop that's a JVC dealer, see if you can get a new face or if they are aware of the problem, I'm sure a shop may even keep those replacement faces in stock.
Hope this helps
I don't think that this is a "ground" issue. Are you sure you followed the correct wiring diagram for your JVC? make sure that the positive and negative wires connects to the proper poles and if it has a grounding (usually a black wire), make to connect it properly. Check as well if the face itself requires a separate power connection.

well, a little more info, the red light for the power comes on, and I also hooked up 3 other radios with the same problem, different kinds. When I put the Delco back in, hard wired the same way without harness, it works fine. Do you know anything about whether the radio is grounded with the antenna or not? I have heard this before but I am not sure what kind of truth is behind it.
All the leads are connected properly, even tried running a round to the frame and the same thing happened. Cleaned terminals on face and head unit, same thing. When I hit the display button it shows the time for about 15 seconds then goes black again. I connected them with interchangeable connectors and get the same form 3 other stereos. When I connect the Delco factory radio in the same fashion, there is no problem. Just FYI, I am not an amateur, so I dont think the issue is with the wiring. There are only 4 wires that are not speaker related, constant, switch, ground and remote. Red, yellow, black and blue for remote (amp)
Already tried that too...like I said, the DELCO factory uses both of those wires and when I connect it in the same fashion it works fine.
do you mean connect the red and yellow wire from the JVC and then connect to the constant or switched wire in the vehicle?
