When you boot up to the log in screen type in administrator as user to log in if you cant log in

during the boot up process you will see on the screen for a short amount of time press a certain key to enter set up press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS scroll down to set user password or supervisor password you can change or remove your password from there

also

The most common way that we know on how to reset or clear the BIOS password is to physically remove the power from the computer by disconnecting the power plug and then removing the Cmos battery for 30 minutes from the motherboard. Another way is to reset the clear CMOS jumper on the motherboard itself. Both of the 2 methods mentioned works because most motherboards use a battery to sustain the BIOS/CMOS settings for the motherboards PROM chip. So by cutting off cmos the battery power, the BIOS/CMOS settings will be erased.

Hope this helps

Forgot external drive password

If there isn't any data on there that you need, you can try formatting it. If you didn't make a recovery disk, or make any note of the password, formatting may be the only solution.

Download the

HDD Unlock Wizard HDD Unlock Wizard v4.2 http://www.filebuzz.com/publisher/download.php?id=98078

HDD Unlock Wizard is a window based utility.

It works as a new life for your locked hard disks, as it is competent to unlock almost all hard disks of major brands available in market.

Its proprietary unlocking algorithms can remove any unknown HDD password and you do not required to give any hint of password as it is not working as a normal password cracker tool.

Removal of a HDD password is a slow process and total time required to remove HDD password is depending on the size of the hard disk and type of hard disk.

A small 2.5" notebook hard disk takes more time as compared to normal Desktop hard disk.

Presently it supports IDE and SATA hard disks.

My buffalo external hard disk can not read since yesterday, I/O device error. previoous was working fine. Do not know why? my Buffalo external hard disk model :HD-PX320U2

it is a PNP (PlugNplay) device. Try using a different cable to connect to your pc. Should the problem remain, hook it up to a different computer and if it doesn't see the drive, it will be an electronic circuit failure inside the box. The data is still on the hhd but you will have to obtain a new circuit to bring the hhd back online for use.

I cannot access my buffalo drive in any laptop. In my macbook, it says "the device is unreadable."

It means that the hard disk inside it has failed. Sorry, it can't be fixed, it's dead. Time for a new one.

First make sure usb cable connected to harddrive is working fine. try it in different usb ports. Press windows key +R key so you can see run then type in run "devmgmt.msc" then press ok so you can see device manager uninstall all usb drivers then it automatic install usb drivers. then check. Also you need to change registry for that type in run "regedit" then press ok then you can see registry editor then locate below key. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11 CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} And remove upper filter and lower filter. Then restart computer then check.
