Hi our Bosch exxcel washing machine has stopped spinning and doesn't reach the end of its cycle most of the time. If it does the washing is still soaking and needs a new rinse and spin cycle after. Occasionally the f12 error sigh shows.

Hi gillsteer,

I believe your drain pump filter is just clogged. The drain pump is trying to pump the water out before the Spin cycle, but can't. Usually this is caused by a foreign object that is obstructing the impeller. See my tip on how to access, drain & clean the Drain Pump Filter:

ACCESS, DRAIN & CLEAN THE DRAIN PUMP FILTER

After this, the Spin cycle will run, after the drainage procedure. If it does not, then you may need to replace the Drain Motor. Which is a easy task.

Kind Regards :-)

Bosch exxcel washing machine/dryer

Is it waiting to heat up? Try it on a spin cycle and see if it stops. If not, it may be a thermostat fault or heater element not working. Worst case may be timer faulty

The washing machine is taking longer time

You can check that pump filter which is behind the base plinth, also check that the water entering the machine is at a reasonable pressure. If the machine is taking a longer time to wash and both inlet and the outlet of water is ok, it is more than likely a wash side heater fault. Basically, you set, for example. a 40 degree cycle, the heater does not operate and the water never reaches the required temp, the machine ventually times out on the heat phase and then moves on to the rinses or aborts to the end of the cycle.

Going through full wash as normal but won,t go onto rinse or spin mode?

Hi,
Most front load units must have two things, door must lock and must sense cold water for rinse. I would check the fill line for the cold water, if clogged with sand, it will not progress through cycle. If the unit doesn't drain it will not spin, is there water left inside the drum area?

Bosch WFF 1800

There is no draining & this is why your spin does not work. There is only one belt. First siphon out the water from the machine via your front door. Clean out your outlet filter, check the tube from the tub to the filter. Luckily there shouldn't be a block in your outlet pump
