My washer was making a squealing noise and I thought it was the water fill valve. A new valve is about $100, so I decided to do some more research. Turns out that the pump needed to be lubricated. Only took 10 minutes and a couple of shots of white lithium spray grease on the pump bushings.

Possible there is dirt in the drain which seems to clog on the drain pump /valve and so when the drain cycle is activated the pressure makes the noise on the pump.
Check for tips to remove the Pump;

VERY LOUD SQUEAL and SQUEAK right before the RINSE cycle. it's scaring me! thanks for your input.

Hi Margaret,
Does the tub/drum come to a complete stop prior to the rinse cycle beginning? Are there any belts or is it direct drive? Does it pump the water during the rinse cycle? If nothing is moving it could be the impeller on the pump is slipping, but likely it would have already come loose. The pump itself usually just fails completely without the squealing and squeaking part. If someone could be sure nothing is pushed up against any other moving parts it would be of help. It often happens when belts are involved and the drum is being turned it does just what you are describing, until it gets to speed.

Oko 72630. Why is it stuck on rinse cycle?

Could be several reasons:
- Selected the "Night cycle" program (means standing with the drum full of water, reason: too much noise in the spin cycle)
- Set to the "Rinse hold" (means standing with the drum full of water, reason: wrinkles on the clothes)

According to your description I think that this is not a failure otherwise error E20 will be appears on display.

Once the washing programme has come to an end, END illuminates on the programme progress display.
If RINSE HOLD was selected, the display beside the START/ PAUSE button flashes.
1. After a rinse hold, the water must first be pumped out:
- Either press the START/PAUSE button (the water is pumped out and the washing is spun according to the completed programme;
After the START/PAUSE button is pressed again, the spin speed can still also be changed during spinning), or
- Turn the programme selector to PUMP OUT and press the START/PAUSE button (the water is pumped out without spinning),or
- Turn the programme selector to SPIN or SHORT SPIN and press theSTART/PAUSE button (the water is pumped out and the washing is spun or gently spun).
At the end of this programme step, the END indicator will illuminate.
2. Open the door.
As soon as the DOOR indicator lights up green, the door can be opened.

Operation of machine wash, rinse, spin

at the end of the wash does it empty ok it needs to before it can move on to take on water for the rinses if it doesn't check the pump is not blocked if it does empty the issue may be water valve for cold water also on the wash cycle does the machine heat up if not it will just sit there washing forever

Cycle starts, but does not fill with water

When I start a new cycle, I first hear the pump run to empty out all remaining water, and after that I hear the motor run for the regular washing cycle, but there is no water in the dishwasher. After a few minutes, the cycle stops, and the washer claims the dishes are 'clean'. When I try starting a new cycle over and over again, about one in 20 times, the cycle will run normally with water. But then the next time, the problem starts all over again. Once a cycle starts correctly, everything works fine, including the rinsing.

Frigidaire FWT647GHSO when it gets to rinse first rinse cycle, it doesn't stop filling with water. It won't agitate or spin. It works well in the wash cycle, agitates and spins and advances

probably you've got something blocking the water pump from doing its job properly so check that the water pump is free running emptying all the water if not then there is a blockage in the pump normally ist a button, paper clip or other debris out of a trouser pocket eric

The water will not empty. It just sits there

Most likely the pump is bad or the timer is not deliver the signal. If you can drain manually that mean the pump is good, but only the timer controller. If you can't drain manually, then either the pump is bad or the electrical path to the pump has been broken. Try to unplug power for a while to reset then re-start with the rinse cycle only. Good luck.

During short spin cycles between rinses it doesn't pump water out

Try looking to see if the little motor is spinning the drain pump. It is in the bottom right. Occasionally I get a small metal shard which locks the pump and therefore-no draining. You can undo everything and check the pump for blockage. Then if need be, replace the mechanisim. The parts are all on line, as is the manual. or call 800 776-3538
