Bad vibrations when engaging blades is usually caused by an out of balance blade. Out of balance blades occur due to damaged and/or bent blades. The fix is to find and replace the offending blade.

Riding mower makes noise and has a vibration when I engage mower blades and throws the belt off

Normally, this is caused by a bad / or worn out bearing in the blade spindle. The blade is attached to a shaft that goes thru the spindle housing, where the bearings are located, and then goes to the pulley that is driven by the blade drive belt. good luck

Murray Select Model # 405000X8 trong vibration when I engage mower deck. Also can't keep deck even.

Could be a number of things included but not limited to.....blade spindle bearings....idle pulley or engager pulley......could also have a bad spot in belt....causing a vibration. This vibration could also lead to deck coming out of level as that model have a leveling adjustment on the deck level control lever.

Deck vibrates when blade engaged

It sounds like your blades are messed up or unbalanced I mean to say.
The only other problems I can think of is that the pulley going through the deck is worn out.

Things you need to check, loose blades, blades out off balance, bad belt or loose belt, bearings in the blade mandrels worn.

Even new blades can be out of balance, but my guess would be either the other blade spindle, or the tensioner pulley bearing.

Check your spindles, especially the shafts in the spindles. If one of them is bent, it'll make the blades vibrate as they spin. You can find replacement shafts and spindles at Partsbuggy.com.

Mower deck shakes when PTO is engaged

An imbalance is causing your vibration. check the blades. You probably have a bent or damage blade. Could also be a bad spot on the deck belt or a damaged spindle.
Good luck.

Deck vibrates excessively - Replaced blades and tension arm. it Still vibrates.

Make sure your blades are engaging the spindle correctly and are centered. My deck did this after I mounted new blades and had 1 of them slightly off center. Also, you may have a bad deck spindle bearing. Hope this helps you.

BLADE DRIVE BELT ADJUSTMENT

Well, most riding mowers have a "pully idler", meaning once you have the belt on there (and it is the RIGHT size), the idler automatically gives the belt tension when you engage it (in fact, the idler pully is what IS engaged when you engage the belly mower).

Couple things to check (super simple):

The Belt. Look to see if she is wore smooth out.
Sometimes....they WILL stretch on you, instead of busting/coming apart, and give you noise (when she is engaged, but wore out enough to flop around a little)

The Deck Blade Bearings. Straight away, that is what it sounds like, or bent blades.

Check your Blade Bearings (super simple):
1. Pick up your deck to the highest high setting (mower off, just sitting).
2. Reach under, and grab your mower blade (do this for both sides), and TILT your blade UP (meaning, don't LIFT the blade straight up).
Seriously, jiggle it at a TILT. If you feel some slack in the bearing, the bearing IS shot. Straight up and down is most of the time OK, IF it is VERY little play on your blade bearings. As you do it, look at your belt pulley directly on top, if you see that pully bobbing....

However, if you grab one side of the blade only, then tilt the blade up, and she moves.....
Bearings need replaced, both the upper AND lower bearings PER blade.

They are not hard to replace, and not expensive either! (Though unfortunately, most are "sealed" junk nowadays!)

Bad Bearings show up (make themselves known) in only a few ways: Tons of Noise (grinding, squealing) & Vibration.

Go check them thar Bearings!
