How to hard reset my symbol scanner (model #: PPT 2846)

It looks like the backup-battery is empty

internal battery of the device is defective already, this is located inside the main board of the scanner

Holding down the Enter key on the keypad for 30 seconds forces the scanner to reset. It is called a forced power down.

Update the OS to the latest version available from Motorola. This version does support TKIP and you won't need to use ageis client.

sounds like you have a faulty laser moule, which overtaxes / shorts accross the battery, I am unsure whether this is user servicable, and may require a prefessional repair to replace the laser pack.

Have you tried taking the battery out of the scanner and then reinserting it? THis should reset the scanner to some degree.

It really depends which barcodes you scanned in the manual.

Your best chance seems to be a reset to the original settings, for which you may need to look at the manual.

Did it used to work ... but now has failed?
