I doubt if the tub has a hole in it, BUT the increased pressure and weight of the half filled tub could force water past a damaged washer. How did the washer get damaged, probably by the spin bearing starting to fail.

Items 21 and 26 are the parts that I would suspect.

Water leaking on fast spin

hi Eamon.
this is what i found from the internet.
Washing machine leaks on spin Last updated on February 6th, 2017
Sometimes a washing machine leaks on spin, but not before. If this is the case, either it's going into spin with too much water inside, or something may only be leaking under the pressure and tub movement caused by spinning.
If you can see water running out of the soap drawer during spin it's probably gone into spin without pumping the water away properly. If it wasn't pumping water out at all it would not go into spin, but a partial obstruction can reduce the flow enough to allow a spin with the water unable to escape fast enough. This causes water to be forced up into the drawer or out of the steam vent at the back. If you suspect this check the last section of this article - Washer leaks from drawer
If water is coming from underneath when it spins then it's more likely to be caused by something leaking only under pressure. Check the door seal all around inside for slits and small holes, especially higher up, which may only open up and let water out when the washer is bouncing around on spin.
Other possible causes are hoses inside the machine which have small holes which open up during spin or which leak where they connect to the tub under spin conditions. These type of leaks often leave tell-tale rust or dry detergent marks. After that there could be a crack or small hole high up in the plastic outer tub which only gets exposed to water when it's forced around the tub during spin.
You are looking for something that is moving and allowing water out when the tub bounces around under load, or something high letting water out when it gets thrashed around the top half of the machine on spin. If you can't see anything obvious get a washing machine engineer

My kenmore elite topload washer is leaking underneath washing machine leaving a puddle whats causing this?

depends. first and foremost, I would fill the unit up about halfway with water, with tub being empty of any clothing. Tilt the machine back where you can look underneath it real good. see if you see any leaks with it half full of water. If you don't see any leaks, put the unit back on all fours, and put it into drain/spin. After tub empties of water, tilt unit back again and check for leaks near the drain pump and hose. If you need any further assistance, look for me on 6ya

Why does the lower tub bearing leak?

the rubber hoses from the tub to the pump, the pump itself are cause for leaks
the rubber hose is normally an accordion style that perishes in the ridges and the pump seal is a simple seal that will leak over time
it may be the tub shaft seal as that would account for leaking more when full as the water will be bypassing the seal into the gear box and out the bleed hole

I have a jacuzzi whirlpool tub in my home that has started to leak at the three button control panel. Flooded out the bathroom so I cut a hole in the tile surround and when the pump is running it leak

First thing you need to do is remove some skirting so you can actually see where the water is coming from.
The 3 position control panel would only leak if the water was above it or covering it if it is located in the wall of the tub. That solution would only require the bather to NOT fill the tub quite so full.
IF however the water is coming from another location then that will be noticeable when you are checking for the water leak.

Why is water leaking from the bottom of the the washing machine?could the drum be to full?

It could be a bad tub seal, hole in a hose, or even the drain pump.
I would need your model number to be able to tell you how to check these parts.

The washing machine is leaking water and it is coming from underneath the washer during all filling cycles and running cycles why?

Could be several things. Check all the hoses, water pump, water valve also check if water is coming from the bottom of tub could be tub seal. Check that there is not a leak in the outer tub somewhere I had one that had a nail stuck in one of the holes in the inner tub and rubbed a hole in the outer tub. Have fun I hope this helps.

Water will not shut off when filling the tub, also when the water level is about half full water leaks (flows) from underneath the washer.

sounds like your water fill valve is bad, after awhile it gets sediment buildup inside and the valves get stuck, not a hard job to replace it,and as for as leaking ,it could be a hose, your main tub seal in between the drun and transmission could be leaking!

Washer leaks from the plastic tub where the braces are connected

Leaks coming from the actual machine can be caused by component failure such as the door gasket, various hoses, the pump, or from defective or loose seals or joints.

Whirlpool awm 049 washing machine

If the washer leaks only during the fill cycle, check the following:
Air-gap device: The air gap is a small device found on most washers that prevents the wash water from being siphoned into the household water supply. It's located either mid-way along or at the end of the black rubber hose that comes from the water-inlet valve. Often it's made of translucent plastic. If one of the air-gap components deforms or cracks, you may need to replace it.

The tube:There's a rubber tube that runs between the water-inlet valve and either the air-gap or the inlet spout. If it cracks or breaks, it can cause a leak.

Inlet spout:Most washers have a plastic spout near the top of the main clothes tub that directs the water into the tub. If the spout cracks or breaks free of its mounting, it can cause a leak.

During spin cycle only:
A washer that leaks only during the spin cycle often has a leak in the main drain hose. Look at the entire hose and correct any problem you find. Also, the steel or plastic outer tubs can rust, split, or be punctured. This may be most visible during large loads and high water levels. If this happens, you may have to replace the entire outer tub--but that may not be an economical repair to make.

If the washer leaks all the time, check these:
Hot and cold water fill hoses - Check the hot and cold water hoses from the household plumbing. If either hose is leaking, tighten it or replace it.

Pump: If the pump leaks, you can probably spot the leak when the tub is full of water. The pump has two or more black rubber or plastic hoses attached to it and usually has a drive belt that spins the pump. If the pump is leaking, you need to replace it.

Main tub seal: The main tub seal is located between the transmission and the outer tub. It's the primary water seal in the outer tub for the transmission-shaft entry point. If this seal leaks, you can see the leak by opening up the machine's main access panel while the machine is full of water with a small amount of detergent in it. The leak appears at the underside of the outer tub, at or near the center. This seal is difficult to replace. You probably should call a qualified appliance repair technician.

Outer tub:The steel or plastic outer tubs can rust, split, develope a hole in some way. If this happens, you may have to replace the outer tub--but that may not be an economical repair to make. Consult a qualified appliance repair technician for further details.
