Shot in the dark here, but sometimes HDMI cables get a little discombobulated... Try doing a hot plug by powering both the TV and the PS3 up and then removing the HDMI cable from both of them at the same time. Wait 1 minute, then plug them both back in at the same time. Good luck!

My Vizio flatscreen 60" HD tv background music sound overpowers talking. How can I lower background music? When no background music, the sound (talking) is perfect.

This is typical of sound systems that come with TVs, especially flat screens. You need to look into purchasing an external sound system, such as a sound bar or a surround sound system. That way you can have better control of background/voice ratios.

I used a voice recorder and when I tried to listen back to it, it had the tv and other background noise. What can I do to pull the voices out to understand it better without the other noise?

If it has a switch labeled conf/dict , put this switch in the dict mode. This switch is a record sensitivity control, in the conference position it will pick up almost any noise in the room. In the dict, position which is short for dictate, it will have less record sensitivity and will only pick up sounds very close to the microphone and eliminate background noises

My vizio tv is practically brand new as of christmas, when a movie or even tv is on the voices are very soft and the music or background noises are EXTREMELY loud, so I am always turning the volume up and...

I had this problem with my previous TV (Syntax by Olevia, an off brand). It only happened to me on certain channels, and for certain shows. What is happening is the TV station is broadcasting the audio in Dolby 5.1 format. For some stupid reason, the TV is playing the background speakers (effects) instead of the speaking parts. You get a little bleed-over of the voices into the back speakers, so voices are there but really quiet. Unfortunately my TV didn't have any surround sound options to fix this.

See if your TV has a surround sound option. Otherwise, you will need to connect the TV sound output to a surround sound system that can properly decode the audio channels.

User hears faint static while on a call. It's not load enough to make it hard to hear the caller, but a noticable crackling/static noise can be heard in the background. happens on every call.

Cell phones transmit the sound as digital data. The data when converted back to analog to listen too CAN have "digitizing noise" which will sound like static.

WORSENING the problem is if there is noise in the background of the person sending the voice and the worst possiblle is to have MUSIC in the background. These both drive the CODEC (the analog conversion system) crazy and will create what you describe. The CODEC is designed to transmit ONLY voice.

My panasonic dvd player is not playing the sound of the main character's voices on two diff. dvd's. Background noise and music is fine. The disks work on another dvd player, and other disks have no problem...

You are listening to a Dolby Digital source and you either don't have a center speaker hooked up or, it's not enabled. If you only have 2 speakers connected to a surround receiver, switch your receiver from surround to surround off. If this doesn't work, or you need more help, specify your system and how it's all hooked up.

I have a 50 in vizio plasma. just hooked up a psp3 for the blue ray, but the input only says 480. What gives? shouldn't this be 1080? I can't find an ajustment on the menu screen on my tv?

What you need to do is hook up your PS3 to a different tv. Then in Display setting on the PS3 change it to 480p. Hook it up to your vizio and while on the ps3, change it back to 1080p. Most Vizios don't have a Progressive scan that adjusts to the output settings of the PS3 (or other device) .
