Hello,

THe leading cause of the Kenmore washer not draining is a broken lid switch. http://www.fixya.com/support/r9939128-whirlpool_kenmore_estate_kitchen_aid

The part number for the lid switch on your model is 3949238 it could be purchased from your local appliance parts store or online at;

Another Kenmore washer with a bad lid switch.

not that i know of,most of the time it's not the machines fault for the switch to break,it's from somebody slaming the lid down or putting heavy things like a laundry basket filled with clothes on top of the lid that causes the switch to break

Kenmore Model# 110.25842400

Yes that is the correct lidswitch. (i checked via model # on sears.com) Before you replace the switch, Turn the washer manually into spin and see if it will. If it spins your lid switch is ok. If there is a humming after the washer fills then your motor is bad. It trys to work but cant. if it does nothing after it fills then you have a bad timer most likely. But see if it will spin when you turn the timer to spin manually.

Replacing "lid closed" sensor

The lid switch mount broke, held in place by two screws in my Kenmore washer (Model 110.22332100), causing the machine to stop during the rinse cycle. The machine would not spin to drain the water. I used sticky-back metal duct tape to hold the lid switch in place, allowing me to use the machine while I order the lid switch (Part #3949238) and the do-it-yourself repair manual (Part # LIT4314044) from Sears Parts online (Phone order at 866-873-7666).
