PC does not recognize Lumix DMC-TZ5 as USB device

My PC has Windows XP and still does not recognize Lumix DMC-TZ5 as I first time after purchase connected it to my PC. Connection, mode and dial setting are all according to manual. With or without memory card. Shots was made into internal memory and Memory card.
When I tried to install USB driver from supplied disk I got massage:
USB equipment operates with the driver installed as standard.
You do not need to install a driver.

I contacted Panasonic and here is what they told me to do and it worked.

"No additional drivers are needed as it runs off the USB drivers imbedded in
your Windows OS. That being said though, it is not that the USB ports on the
front of your computer are faulty, just that they are in fact a HUB and not
the port which is located on the back of the PC. Windows does not
traditionally like reading external Hard drives (your camera becomes one when
PC connect mode is selected) through a HUB. In this case I would still
strongly recommend connecting to the back of the PC."

I just kept the camera on, connected it to the PC, waited for the error message, and then restarted the PC, leaving the camera on & connected. After the restart, the PC suddenly recognized the camera, and I could copy the pictures and vidoes without a problem... beats me why, but it worked for me...

I have Lumix dmc tz5. It is not recognizing the card. When I turn it on it says taking pictures with internal. I have reformatted card etc. still won't work properly.

With no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format" and follow the directions to erase the internal memory. After that, your card should work properly.

Can't upload photos from Lumix DMC-tz5 to PC. Used to just insert card in printer but got a new printer and it doesn't work with Windows XP. Tried a card reader and no good either. Ordered a USB...

Anything you try has to be compatible with Windows XP. Whenever Microsoft come out with a new operating system (example Win 10) they suspend support for an older OS. (example Win XP, and Vista) This lets all manufacturers know that their new products and accessories no longer have to be compatible with the older OS, but need to be compatible with the new one. Therefore, your card reader has to be XP compatible as well. Hope this helped.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5 able to download to ipod

Not directly. You can download the pictures to a computer, then upload them to your iPod. If you connect the iPod and the camera or its memory card, you can transfer the pictures from one to the other without storing them on the computer.

Tz5 video freezes on pc

The Lumix Tz5 records in .MOV format, which isn't compatible with Windows Media Player. You will have to download Apple's Quicktime player. You can get it here: http://www.apple.com/uk/quicktime/download/

Of course. I'm assuming you're not already using it.

I lost Panasonic LUmix DMC-TZ15 driver

Do you have a USB card reader? Just take the card from the camera, pop into the reader, and you can transfer your photos.
No drivers required unless using Windows 98 or earlier.

Also, the model is wrong, do you mean TZ5? You should be able download software for the camera from www.panasonic.com
