Hi, My Hoover 600MB top loading washing machine is approx 8 years old. Recently it has occassionally not fully spun out - clothes still wet at end of cycle. Now it also often doesn't agitate - just fills with water, then drains and tries to spin etc thro the various cycles. It sounds like the motor is turning, but the drum doesn't move. I have noticed (prompted by a similar forum comment) that if you give the machine a good shake before putting the clothes in, it seems to get through the cycle ok - no idea why??? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks John R

Have a look for coins etc stuck in the drain pump or the tub outlet hoses especially where they fit onto the tub. If a coin or other foreign material blocks the water flow when draining , these machines wont spin properly.

Have a year old Whirlpool Ultimate Care II. After wash is spun and load is done the clothes are still sopping wet. Tried extra rinse but that doesn't help. Afraid of damaging dryer when putting clothes...

Check to make sure a nail has not gotten stuck in one of the hole in thew bottom of the drum. Check to see that no article of clothing has gotten jammed between the tubs or the top.

Zanussi FJS 1425W - the machine is not spinning the clothes so clothes are quite wet when they are washed so have to spin but this is also not working well - washing purchased approx 7 yrs ago -

Hoover 600mb doesn't spin dry. Clothes just sit in the machine without moving. Water empties OK, but clothes are dripping wet.

Valve blocked in rear of drum. Switch off power supply before cleaning. If the problem still occurs it could possibly be the brushes in the motor. both jobs are simple and very cheap to repair
