ASUS k8v mx RAM upgrade issue

It's late and I'm too tired to think at the moment, but you could download and run Everest with both modules in and see if it finds a problem? http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Info/Everest-Home-Edition.shtml

What type of ram can I add to my Compaq EVO 510 CMT and what is the max amount?

DDR SDRAM type Ram i.e. DDR1 with 266mhz speed with DDR266/PC2100 compliance. You can simply ask for DDR SDRAM 266Mhz or you can find online with the similar compliance, DDR266/PC2100 Compliance.

I hope you still have the old one which was installed on the system, if so look at the white sticker, it should be labelled there...

Can arcer laptop graphic card be upgrade

No, your video card cannot be upgraded, it's integrated in the motherboard. The only thing you can do is to assign it more memory.

How to upgrade my computer?

What motherboard do you have? You can upgrade by buying RAM, changing the CPU, changing/adding graphics card. Just tell me what motherboard you have, if you dont know, download and install Everest -> http://www.lavalys.com/products.php?ps=UE&lang=en&page=10
