Ram upgrade Hi, Im trying to add more ram to my motherboard. I ran Everest software and it told me the motherboard was a Lite-on nr146 and that I have 256 mb of ram.The operating system is XP professional. Can you tell me what type of Ram I need and how much Ram the motherboard can run. Thanks.

DDR SDRAM type Ram i.e. DDR1 with 266mhz speed with DDR266/PC2100 compliance. You can simply ask for DDR SDRAM 266Mhz or you can find online with the similar compliance, DDR266/PC2100 Compliance.

I hope you still have the old one which was installed on the system, if so look at the white sticker, it should be labelled there...

No, your video card cannot be upgraded, it's integrated in the motherboard. The only thing you can do is to assign it more memory.

Yes other frequency RAM will not support in your motherboard.You can purchase same frequency RAM which is available in your PC.

What motherboard do you have? You can upgrade by buying RAM, changing the CPU, changing/adding graphics card. Just tell me what motherboard you have, if you dont know, download and install Everest -> http://www.lavalys.com/products.php?ps=UE&lang=en&page=10

HI it sounds like a speed issue,check your
motherboard info for support or if you
have no manual download it from asus site
check for ddr2 support via the manual

Does the motherboard support 1 gig ram modules? what kkind of motherboard/video card do you have? sometimes video card onboard ram can ofset motherboard ram, especially with ati video cards.

Get a new  Motherboard. See if that works, seems like you've checked everything else.  Good Luck!
