When you slide the smoker box and smoker tray out of the face of the grill, you may have to lift up the slightly lift up on the front of the slide, to remove it entirely from the grill. Once the slide is pulled out far enough to remove the smoker box, remove it first and set aside. Then continue to pull the slide all the way out, lifting the front as it reach the face of the control panel.

In case you have misplaced your Owner's Manual, I have included a link to it that you can download & print for future reference. http://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/content/pdfs/150240-2.pdf

Check out page 13, if you continue to have a problem.

I hope this has helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Traeger shut off by itself.

I'm not sure how the pellets got there, but grease in the bottom of the Traeger can catch fire and cause all sorts of problems. One way to minimize this is to make sure the drip tray is level, so that it bleeds into the bucket instead of over the lowest edge of the tray.

Did you try changing the battery? Usually under the ignition button is a aa battery that make she switch electric. Check that out.

Where does the wood chips need to be placed in the smoker?? I don't see a chip pan.

If you don't have the wood chip tray, you're sitting dead in water, at this point. The wood chip tray goes above the burner, below the water pan. If this is a brand new, just purchased smoker. Go back to where you purchased it or call the number in Owner's Manual for "Parts missing". If it's not brand new, you can purchase a smoker tray from Masterbuilt Customer Service 1.800.489.1581

Hope this helped you.

Igniter turns red but will not fire the burner. Gas is coming out and I've changed the burner with a good burner.

You need to adjust the ignitor so that the flame is closer to the burner. If you try match lighting the burner, does it light? If it does, then the igintor need to be adjusted closer to the burner.

I replaced the 2 igniters and still neither one of them will sparc to light the gas on fire. I replaced the batteries as well.

Check where spark occurs in grill, you will see an electrode. This area gets covered in grease and causes ignitor not to spark. Also make sure this electrode is close to metal so it will spark.
