No HP devices detected. HP Solutions Center will close now.

Hi everyone. Anyone have a solution to the "No HP devices detected. HP solutions Center will close now" problem? I'm still using my HP OJ 7410 All in One via Ad-hoc w/less connection.

Been having this prob since like forever and was hoping someone could throw out a few ideas that might help.

Much appreciated.

HP Solution Center can't find the printer, so i can only use the functions on the printer itself. The only thing i can do from the laptop is print, but with photos i'm unable to select the right paper, so always prints in A4.

The wireless function will not work with MS Vista and the HP Photosmart C7180. I had to purchase a USB cable and it works perfectly now. That message is history.

This is a known problem between the OS and HP.

It might help to uninstall the HP devices through the Device Manager, and then restart the computer. Let the computer try to detect the HP devices and install them and the drivers needed. You might want to have any software discs handy in case you have to reinstall any software that came with the printer, etc.

Try a complete uninstall:

Unplug the USB cable from your PC.
[If it is a WinVista Operating System Then in Go to Start> Control Panel> Programs and features delete all the entries you see for HP.( If it promts a restart do not restart now)
Rest all steps wil be same as winXP]

If it is a WindowsXP Operating System then:

Go to Start> Control panel> Add or Remove programs. and delete all the entries you see for HP.( If it promts a restart do not restart now)
Then open my computer> C:drive> Program files> and delete the HP Folder only (not Hewlett Packard)
Then Open C:drive> Program files> Common Files and then delete HP and Hewlett Packard folder.
Then Go to C:Drive> Windows> Temp and empty the temp folder as much as you can.
Then go to Recycle bin and empty recycle bin.
Then Insert the All-In-One CD and cancel the installation process.
Open the content of the CD> and open Util folder> Then CCC> Then click on Uninstall_L4 and follow the on screen process.

After all restart the computer.

And if possible download the software from HP website:

For WinXp:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-49256-2&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&os=228&product=3192753

Then click on download only and then follow the on screen instruction to install the All-In-One, ONLY PLUG THE USB CABLE WHEN PROMPTED DURING INSTALLATION.

Fo WinVista:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-49256-2&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&os=2093&product=3192753

Then click on download only and then follow the on screen instruction to install the All-In-One, ONLY PLUG THE USB CABLE WHEN PROMPTED DURING INSTALLATION.

Let me know if any problem.

OK that is something really big well dont have to worry there is another small thing that you can try ...
1. If you have the S/w CD then insert it in the computer open my computer >> Right click on the CD ROM drive and select the option EXPLORE >> there will be an icon that will say Util double left click on that >> You will get a folder that says CCC double left click on it >> you will get a list of different icons over there double left click on UNINSTALL_L2 >> a black window(cmd page) will open up and if u have the USB cable plugged in take it out and after that hit "ENTER" from your keyboard it will uninstall the drivers of the printer that is not getting compatible to the operating system in your computer after it uninstalls click on FINISH>>
computer will restart itself...... after that you need to clear the TEMP folder in your computer
...........if XP click on start>>click on RUN>> type %temp% and hit enter delete everythig that is there after selecting any one of them and then pressing Ctrl+A on your keyboard delete everything and then try and install the S/W....
..........if vista type %temp% and hit enter delete everythig that is there after selecting any one of them and then pressing Ctrl+A on your keyboard delete everything and then try and install the S/W ....

    2. Click Printers or Printers and Faxes .
    3. Make sure there is an icon for the printer you are trying to use.
      • If there is no icon and you are connecting via a USB cable, disconnect the cable, and restart the computer. Reinsert the HP software CD and choose Add a device . Connect the unit when prompted by the installer.
      • If there is no icon and it is a wireless connection, run the wireless setup wizard as outlined in the product setup guide, then reinsert the CD and choose Add a device .

Solution three: Check that the Digital Imaging Monitor is running

NOTE: If you chose a custom install and did not select HP Digital Imaging Device Functions, the Digital Imaging Monitor will not be installed. Proceed to Solution five.

    1. Press the CTRL , ALT , and Delete keys at the same time to open the Task Manager.
    2. Look to see if HPQTRA08 and HPQSTE08 are running.
    3. If they are not running, restart the computer and then try again.
    4. If they are still not showing in the list, proceed to Solution four.

Solution four: Check that the HPZPML driver is running

    1. In Windows XP and 2000, click Start , Control Panel , Administrative Services , and then click the Services Icon . Scroll through the list looking for HPZPML to make sure it is set to automatic and that it is running.
    2. In Windows 98/ME, open the Task Manager by pressing CTRL , ALT , and then Delete . The file HPZIPM should be listed.
    3. If the HPZML or HPZIM file are not available, restart the computer. If they still do not show up, proceed to Solution five.

Solution five: Uninstall and reinstall the software

    1. Insert the software CD into the CD-ROM drive of the computer. The software installer should automatically start.
    2. If the software installer does not automatically start, complete the following steps:
      1. Click Start and then Run .
      2. On the Open line, type D:\SETUP , where D is the letter of the CD-ROM drive.
      3. Click OK .
    3. Click Uninstall on the installer screen. If Uninstall is not an option, the software installation was incomplete. Click Install .
    4. Follow the onscreen instructions until the printer software is completely installed.

Causegtabtop.gif There are several reasons this can happen. The device was not connected during the installation of the software, there is no printer icon in the printer folder, the Digital Imaging Monitor is not running, or the HP service PML driver is not running.
