My toshiba dvd player sd1700 will not turn on. Is there a factory reset sequence for this product?

SOURCE: reset Apex DVD player

If you go to the system menu there should be a place under settings where it says Reset or Restore Default settings. Hope this helped. =)

SOURCE: Reset Toshiba SD-5000 Dvd player to factory defaults

With most Toshibas, you could un-plug them and leave it for either 10minutes or 30minutes and it would reset. strange, I know. give it a try.

I also found this when working on a similar problem with your player, it may be relevant -you could try pressing the power button and another button..
sorry, I don't have one in front of me to test..

the 3 HD indicator lights will cycle and then pushing the HDMI select button will move through the resolutions.]]

  1. Insert DVD with foreign region code
  2. Wait for the error message to appear
  3. Press M (Memory)
  4. Press 1

I have a Panasonic DMP-BD80 BluRay player purchased in Australia. It cannot read BluRay discs purchased in China. Please help me solve the problem/unlock the region code. Thanks & Regards, Glenn
