Bosch Exxcell 1400 Express - Fault F04

Can anyone help? Our machine stops in mid-cycle and flashes F04, even though the filter is clean (spotless after I cleaned it!) and the pump works quite happily draining it. Its supposed to be a blockage but I can't find one anywhere in the machine after cleaning it. Any other suggestions?

Basically it fills up, starts the cycle, then suddenly stops 5 minutes into it. I can get it to drain but nothing else. I see the F04 is a common problem with Bosch but can find few solutions.

SOURCE: Got the Bosch Classixx 6 Express 1400 washing machine cant

Power on, press the start button for 5 or 6 seconds, the sign will go off. Try the door gently. Means the machine is locked, for children. I think if you do it again it locks.

My Bosch Excel 7 1400 express won't spin heavy bathmats with the result of me having to let them drip for a couple of days to lighten the weight! very inconvenient! have tried redistributing but doesnt...

Heavy Mats, Coats, Bedspreads etc....Your balance sensor will shut it down as you have heavy mats full of water they are very heavy. If it didn't your machine would self-destruct. You might try a commercial laundry as their machines are designed (bolted to the floor) to handle various heavier loads. Even those will shut down if it senses to heavy of a load though.

Bosch Exxcel 1400 Express - has stopped mid cycle, F18 showing on conputer - what is this fault please.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Sorry but I do not know your particular machine even though we have a Bosch. I would suggest, however, as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters. The motor is unable to drain all of the water in the allotted time.
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and held in by a round cover/knob.

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!

It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!

Hope the filter is the problem and good luck!

Washing machine bosch 1200 exxcell

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.
