This problems ur tv are having only can be two causes 1) The Y-Sustance main tuner logic board or 2)The tv Plasma screen panel itself it is slowly leaking radiaton and dying,if it is the tv plasma screen panel itself it is dying than the tv not worth repairing because by replacing the plasma screen panel itself will cost the same as a new tv itself. The Y-Sustance board-that the tuner main logic board that take in the tv incomming broadcasting signal cable.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole new refurbish Y-Sustance main tuner logic board for replacement. This tv problems are 50/50 between the Y-Sustance main tuner logic board or the very exspensive plasma screen panel itself.
Almost certainly bad news, I'm afraid. Still in guarantee period from when you bought the set? If not, you'll have to get a repairers quote and see how you feel about that.
Dlp tvs have dark pictures, first thing u must be alway change the tv projection lamp.Specially,if u bought used, because u don't know how long the projection lamp been inside that tv already. After u change the projection lamp, still have problems or hear alots of clickings sound too. This problems the board call the Ballast board is it dead too. This Ballast board only job are just to ignite the tv projection lamp only.
There's an over current fault in the power supply or the Y-sustain convergence board. The loud pop was either a capacitor or pico-fuse breaking from excessive current overload. Sounds like 2 or 3 mosfets have shorted at the gate ends. Plasma TV's always have this problem because they generate too much heat and the components cant take the load conditions. Make your next TV an LCD...
To fix this problem have your local repair shop do it for you.....
First of all, I'm not an expert but you might wanna change your cables. Bad and cheap cables are usually the reason for bad and snowy picture. Good luck!
This really shouldn't be the normal life of the lamp inside your TV...plasmas are meant to last at least one full year, up to three depending on how many hours per day they are used (I'm sure you can figure out where on that scale your tv lies). It could be caused by magnetic field interference, most likely from a speaker sitting too close to the tv. The magnetic field that is produced by the speaker refocuses the color on the tv, causing dark spots; they can sometimes appear as red or purple tinted areas as well. Most of today's tv's (especially plasmas) and speakers are set up so as not to do this, however you can never really be positive that it will not happen. If you have speakers near your tv, move them at least a two feet away, but the farther the better. Unfortunately, there is no real fix for this problem unless you take the tv to a professional and see if they can de-magnetize that section of the tv. I hope this helps some...if you don't have speakers near your tv then I apologize for wasting your time! haha, at least you'll know for future reference though. Your best bet anyway is to return the tv back to where you bought it or call the manufacturer; if it's only 6-7 monthes old, it should still be under warranty. Good luck!!
