You can transport on it's side, but it will have to sit upright for minimum of 6 hours before you can plug it in and turn it ON, to use it again.

I assume this is a freon based unit being it has a window exhaust kit(I just looked it up). The freon tank contains some oil to lubricate the compressor. I would not suggest lying it on it's side, but if you have no other option...at least let it stand upright for a while before operating it...and maybe only run it for 20 seconds...then let it sit again.....that should allow the oil to get back to where it's supposed to be.
