I have a picture tube type television set I purchased brand new around November 2004 from a Sam's Club store - Sylvania 32" set, model #SST4324. I recently purchased a new house and set my TV up in my new living room. Everything seems typical for about three weeks - working fine, and normal as usual. One day I turn the set on and the screen is completely black except for a thin multiple colored line about 3/4 of the way up the screen that ran horizontal across the screen. Sound from the channel the set was on was clear, as if you were normally watching the set. You could also change the channels with the up or down buttons and could hear the different audio for those channels. However the screen did not change at all. Nothing but the thin colored line. Does this mean the picture tube blew? Is the TV worth fixing? Please let me know what you think. Thank you for your time and help.

How do I program a vibe 5 in 1 remote to a sylvania tv

First, I'm not a Sylvania representative.
* Model #s and brand of remote and TV for specific solutions.
* You will need to check your 5-1 remote papers (or web site) for the Sylvania TV codes.
* Set up your remote with the correct code (or use code search function)
* Note the TV in the picture is an older "Tube" screen model. The current (New) remotes may not work for this older model. You will need to check the remote specs
* Example of remotes and Sylvania TV models that are current; https://www.amazon.com/Sylvania-NH000UD-Replacement-Remote-Control/dp/B005DNS0EM

TV picture burned out

Sounds like you got a bad Capacitor inside the TV that popped and then smoked as the capacitor got extremely hot. Now the power board will need to be replaced on this and your right this should have lasted longer then what you came to expect from the unit when it blew.

Things to do when buying home eletronics and I know walmart asked you "Would you like a exended warranty with your purchase today?" its $29.95 for 3 years and your answer would have been NO i'll take the 1 year fro mthe manufacture. Now you got to purchase the part that went pop and smoke. Upset at the store? Upset at the manufacture? or upset with yourself for not taking advantage of walmarts 3 year warranty for pennys on a dollar? However it is it is.

Fixya is here to tell you what the problem is and how to fix it if your good at Tv repair oe eletronics to boot.

You need a new power supply or you need the componet that popped and smoked, straight put you need repair. Is there a recall? No, but there was a warranty option see these days TV's do not last long why? It would put the manufactures out of business and would set back tech support its all a money grubbing game is it my falt? No I was born in 1974 where the first TV I had was the tube Tv only the best!!

www.partstore.com is where you purchase the new part from. Good luck and Merry Christmas

Need new lcd screen for 32" sylvania

I am not aware of replacing just the front screen, that is the LCD display and is most likely more than the set cost. Please be very careful when purchasing something like this on e-bay. I can't see how they will have a display for such a new set. Can you give me a model number and I will do the homework for you?
