Got datamax i - 4208, the cutter doesn't cut tickets, if i'm sending test file from the prin - it cuts, but when i print tickets from the ms access - it doesn't! and also i've got some strange error - position fault! what should i do?
If you use ms-access you must have installed the windows driver, therefore you must enable the cutter in the printer properties.
Position fault is that it does not detect the label, must be press the FEED key or to calibrate, press the FEED key for 5 seconds to calibrate the sensor label.
Are you using dpl commands? or a Windows driver? Check that the command syntax is correct or that the controller is configured to cut it as you want. Download the dpl manual in www.datamaxcorp.com or use the datamax windows driver from www.seagullscientific.com

Sometimes it's simply the Internet Browser settings. Go to File, then Page Setup and change the margins to 0.1 and all footers and headers to Blank or Empty.
doni_s: After printingsome labels, test print cannot function properly.Rebootthe printerand trythe test print again. Roberto Martinez [email protected]
Your problem is related to the size of your Tags.
When the label is fed to be cut, the notch is placed on the sensor. Since there is no paper the value recorded says no paper. Try to recalibrate the sensors or stick a piece of liner on the sensor.
Assuming you want to print the file use the command "lpr" This is the only protocol used by this printer anyway.
If you have root access to the printer you can use "lp" but otherwise use "lpr"
command line usage:
"$ lpr logolab.bmp"
please let me know if this helped or if I can clarify more.Joe
out of stock warning on display?
check to see if the label sensor is over the gap on the die cut stock.
if not die cut?
If reflective, make suree you have the correct sensot set in the printer configuration.
You can go to test, and print a conf label to see how it is set.
You may also have to do a calibration depending on the error
try using a seagull sceintific driver.
also if you are sending graphics (barcode) instead of an actual barcode decoded font, the printer will process as a graphic.
If serial, speed up to max, if parallel it should print quite fast
if the cutter cycles on start up up?
if not, check connector(RJ45) underneath platen assy.
I connected the I class should immediately recognize the cutter.
If it does not cut ever, check you format to see if the cutter is turned on in the driver.
I have seen some failures from wear on the bell crank that cycles the cutter.
The printer must be calibrated or the type of sensor is wrong. Verify that the sensor type is correct for your label (gap or black mark) and you can calibrate it by pressing the FEED key for about 5 seconds approximately.
