You know that every electronics device run with the power whether it is Dc/AC.So, when it gets wet with water or any liquid the current passes through the mother board/main board get sort.We have known that liquid substances like water has current conductor. Therefore, if we put or supply current to the device before completely dried the components inside the device can damage easily.Likewise, you have done, now the only thing is to dry your phone by using Rework Station (Heat Blower) which is used by the mobile technician. But, sorry I could not tell you that I will definitely works because this process should be done first (before inserting battery). Thanks for visiting fixya
Immediately remove the phone from the water, turn off the cell phone remove the battery and SIM card. When you have driedthe cell phone by putting in a warm sunny place for several days or in front ofa warm fan heater for several hours then reassemble the phone. Hopefully itwill work properly but if does not work then it is faulty and you need a newcell phone.
its gotten wet......take the battery out for a few days and you should be fine.....it might not have been in water but moisture inside the unit will trigger false adapter sensors.
if it didnt get wet, and its still under warranty (usually one year from date of purchase) take it to your cell providers service center and ask for a replacement. they will probably open up your phone and make sure that there wasn't indeed any water damage by checking the sticker on the inside of the phone.
Hi,
The main effect of water is on the motherboard of the cellphone.
In case, it has not affected the working of cellphone/motherboard inside that, you can keep the cell in dry temperature for few hours, you can use a dryer or you can open the lcd/screen panel and you can also use soft cotton to keep it dry.
Thanks for using Fixya.
WELL IT SIMPLE FIRST I WANT TO KNOW IF YOUR PHONE THE TIME THAT GETTING WET DID YOU REMOVE THE BATTERY OR STILL THE BATTERY IS INSIDE BECAUSE YOUR PHONE WAS GETTING TO SHORTCIRCUIT BUT IF THE TIME THAT YOUR PHONE IS NO SHORT CIRCUIT JUST TESTER IT THEN REPLACE OPEN IT YOUR PHONE INTO THEIR PIECE AND TRY TO BLOWER THE MOTHER BOARD AND ALL PARTS OF YOUR CELLPHONE IF YOU THINK IT IS DRY YOU TRY TO OPEN YOUR CELLPHONE IF NOT DONE WELL TRY TO REPLACE LCD OR FLEX THATS FOR NOW FOLKS...............................
Hi Layna. You did the right thing by letting it dry out. The board (brain) of the phone should be ok. Just bring it to your local cellular service repair center and they should be able to fix it. It wont be covered under warranty because liquid damage never is. The problem with you phone is th "button flex" which should run you about $60 US to repair, no more than that. If you have no local repair center for cellphones in your area, check my profile and im sure we can help you.
