I bought a new samsung tv and blue ray player. The blue ray player was a display so it did not come with any manuals. It only came with the remote and the blue ray player. I cannot get the remote to work with the blue ray player.

go to walmart they have remotes for $29.85!

First off is your TV a 3D TV. If it is you should be able to go into the menu setting (or on the remote) and change the display from regular TV to 3D. Then your 3D blu-ray player should recognize it.

Is your TV 1080p? If the Blu-Ray is putting out 1080p and your TV only supports 720p/1080i then you will get a message like this. Try changing your settings to 720p while it is connected to a TV that does display correctly, then move it back to the 47 in LCD.

change your setting on the blu-ray player to 1080p and it doesn't matter if your tv is only 720

try connect to the tv AV1/2 scart connector, with a full scart cable (top quatily),and use tv AV1/2 cannel to test

need code to program the remote for my bd p1590 to control my panasoniic hd tv and the codes that are in the manual dont work

Not really a solution, but I have a new BD-P1600 and I can't have it work OK with my I-Inc 28 inch monitor in HDMI. It got the blue screen with Language choice the frst time I plugged it and choose the language, but after that it always stops displaying after a few seconds of blue screen. I plugged the unit to normal yellow video connector of a 20 inch TV and I configured the output HDMI to monitor but the player continues to stop displaying and hang when getting to no-disk. Sometimes, when pressing the SETUP on the remote, I can see SETUP on front display, sometimes not, but never got it on the monitor screen it-self like with the 20 inch TV.
Will I need to return to Futureshop change it for another new one?

644 works with the Samsung BD-P1590/BD-P1590C/BD-P1600 om my Blue Button Dish Remote for the 722k.

The TV remote may have a button stating Aspect Ratio, or similar. Usually when you keep hitting it, it may cycle through available settings like 16:9, 4:3, Wide, Zoom, etc. If not, or if the remote doesn't have this button, check the TV's onscreen display but usually the source device like the DVD player is in control of how the image fits the screen so the DVD player's onscreen display or it's remote may also have the Aspect option so check it as well. Todays TV's are alot like PC monitors and they "talk" to the device in control of the signal. Your Samsung may have worked better with the Blu Ray, or maybe it's the other way around but your new LG may not have an automatic adjustment like the Samsung may have had.
