Doesn't Power on meaning dead

I acquired software update from Magellan. This was going to convert my 700 to 760 when it was complete with the input from the CD that was sent to me. I would also have a more current version and maps. After some hours it completed the transfer noting it was sucessful. It told me a reboot would be necessary and not to shut off the device BUt when I just wanted to move it out of my way I inadveretently dislodged the cradel. The device went off and stayed off. I thought it might be the power cord so I tried my car's power cord but it still wouldn't work.

I called Magellan but they don't support it any more (discontinued). On of their techs said it was a cradel problem and then an additional call another tech said it was the device (corrupted in some way). A definite difference of advice.

So doesn't any one out there have a solution to this problem?

Magellan Roadmate 1412 won't track satellites

It might mean that the signal is disrupted. Might be a software glitch. Try going outside, get a clear view of the sky. Then reboot/reset the unit. Hold the switch to the reset position or off position for 10 seconds, it will shut off. then switch it back on. It should reacquire a signal within 2-5 minutes, then it will fix on your position. If that doesn't work, try updating your software. Call Magellan Tech Support for instructions.

My Explorist 210 does not connect with any computer. What can I do.

Hello,
What is happening is your computers are not recognizing your unit. Means you have to update unit via the registered site for updates.
Hello,

first Perform a hardware reset to return the minor settings of the GPS to the original condition. Press the small "Reset" button on the side of the unit for several seconds until it powers off and powers back on.

If that doesn't solve the problem, then it means you will have to perform a firmware upgrade to put the GPS back in order.

Download and install the Content Manager software available for free from the Magellan support website. Connect your GPS to your computer with a USB cable, and the software will automatically search for firmware updates for your GPS.

Here is support to copy and paste in your browser for Magellan.

My Magellan RoadMate 1340 will power up to logo and "moving clock

Have you tried updating the software on your device.
Go to Magellan.com and download the Magellan Content Manger:
http://www.magellangps.com/products/map.asp?tab=0&PRODID=2216
Once you've installed Content Manger onto your PC, connect your device to your PC using the USB cord. The Content Manager will allow you to update your 1340 with the latest software and updates which 'should' fix the problem that you're having with your unit.

My magellan-maesto will not change off of system settings & system status

If you hold the power button down for 10 seconds while it is on it will power off completely. Plug in the GPS and allow it to charge completely, then apply the software update from the mfg website following their directions exactly.

My gps is stuck on magellan boot up screen.

turn on your 1210 once it boots to the magellan screen press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds, once it shuts off, power it back on by pressing and holding the power button for up to ten seconds then let it load.

if that fails, power it up and try the reset button, (either on the bottom or on the side)the little pinhole, and use a paper clip to depress the reset
button.
