My dryer ran fine with my last load of only 3 towels. I haven't had any problems with my dryer before. I went to "wrinkle release" my towels and nothing happened. No lights, no 18min. showed on screen. I openned the dryer door and the 35 min. lit up (the amount I have set for timed dry). I shut the dryer door and pushed start and nothing. The lights stay lit, but it won't start. I pushed different buttons and nothing changes. I have unplugged the dryer, left it unplugged all nite and it still won't work. I am very sad, I love this dryer.

SENSOR DRY IN SAMSUNG DRYERS

As a tech, I'm constantly fielding questions about loads of clothes not drying properly in the larger Samsung dryers--and this tip can be used for a lot of dryers with the sensor-dry feature. Sensor drying uses a pair of metal strips located on the filter holder or on the back wall in the dryer. When wet clothes rub against the strips, this sends a signal to the main board which tells the dryer to keep going. Unless large loads are used, the consumer should use "timed dry". This is because smaller loads won't hit the sensor strips often enough and cause the computer to count down too rapidly. Also, consumers should try to make sure like items are placed with like items( shirts with shirts, pants with pants, towels with towels, etc) Thick clothing(jeans, heavy sweatshirts, etc.) usually will have damp spots like pockets due to the moisture not being able to contact the sensor strips--the technology is not 100%. Also, if there are problems with the timer starting to count down too rapidly all the time, and dryer sheets are used, the sensor strips may be coated with a waxy layer. Use some super fine emory cloth to polish the coating off of the sensor strips. You very well might find that the problem is solved and not have to initiate a service call!

I have an electric Estate Dryer made by Whirlpool TEDS840PQO. It has "Timed Dry", "No Heat Fluff" and "Auto Sense Drying" settings. On the Auto Sense Drying it has...

Verify that the wrinkle prevent switch is good. If so, the timer is likely the problem. Sometimes the switch contacts inside the timer can be cleaned to restore operation, bit it is a tricky item to disassemble and reassemble.

Maytag 3000 Series front load gas dryer (Whirlpool) - No lights, no digital display, not able to turn on or start. Yes, unit is plugged in to AC outlet. Yes, AC voltage is good at 120V. Yes, circuit...

OK everyone, my ears are red. Over the weekend, I gave this another shot, since my warranty repair appointment isn't until next week.

I opened the dryer door (the drum light is off, indicating no power at all) and went to the circuit breaker box, and flipped the washer/dryer breaker back to off and then re-set the breaker again.

When I got to the laundry room - the drum light was on!

So I powered up the unit, and ran the machine. It ran for about one minute, and then went off. So I went back and re-set the breaker again.

Visually, the breakers did NOT LOOK tripped - but flipping the thing off and then on to re-set the breaker worked.

This time, the dryer is working fine. The bad part is: I need to replace the breaker for the second time. So this is NOT a defective dryer, it is a bad electrical supply. I will call the electrician back to make him fix this right. . . . .

Thanks again for all who responded. This is a new unit, purchased on 7/7/2009.

Clothes and sheets come out wrinkled and twisted

Try not to wash large items with small items the large items like sheet will twist around the small item. causeing twisting and wrinkling. Also If you are overloading the clothes or underloading the clothes they will come out wrinkled. I would try to do some testing wash a load of only towels then wash a load of only t-shirts and other light weight items that you may have. Then do just a load of your jeans. What happens? Neptune dryer

I have the same problem, but I found that shaking the clothing articles out while they are wet before putting them in the dryer, releases the wrinkles before the drying cycle. They come out looking much better. You can also buy a dryer ball, they are balls with hard spikes, they take away static and also replace dryer sheets, they last up to 3 years. Buy them at any Wal-Mart or big retailer. Good Luck!

Switches to wrinkle release and changes to 18 on display.

Check the vent coming out the back. It may be plugged up not alowwing proper airflow. You might just unhook it for one load to see if that is the problem.
