I have a whirlpool sixth sense washing machine. the door open light constantly flashing although the door is well shut. No programmes work

check if the door is closed because it is very sensitive closing mechanism for reasons of security so sometimes you see that the door is closed but in reality it is not closed well

FO6 Find what fault is , then FO6 will clear . See Handbook

May be the switch is loose try fixing it with ascrew driver or the rubber hose is not fixed properly and the machine pump is taking air or the pump failure

washers are very expensive to fix they cost more to fix then to buy

Swich off the machine, try some WD40 on the door mechanism (on machine lock, not on the door) and open & shut for a minute or two. Then try the machine, spin only just to try.

bad door lock and or harness replace door lock assy and check all connections

This error code means there is an abnormality.
If the on-off door lock LED on a Whirlpool washer flashes rapidly at the same time as at least one other LED, then this means there is an abnormality.
Try first to reset the machine. You can press and hold the reset button for a couple of seconds, otherwise turn off the power completely (unplug it) for 5 mins.

I had the same problem and found that the brushes on the motor had worn out. I replaced them and now all is well. They cost between £30 and £40 to replace and it's a very straight forward job. My only problem was excessive sparking from the new brushes until they bedded in. I simply ran the spin program at 400rpm a few times until the sparking disappeared.

As always, be careful around electrics and if your not sure get a pro to help

Mine was doing exactly the same. I turned off power, held down the 2 black buttons on right, switched back on and the start button flashes intermittently. It then allowed me to change programs, just testing it now!! It started, this was more then it was doing!! lol

You need to replace the door interlock. Try giving the handle a firm push and see if the machine will start.
