20 yr old Amana mod SQD26VW.Freezer leaves ice cream soft. During early morning temp is average of 10 but stays around 22 during day,removed bottom panels and vacumed from f & r
Theres a few solutions that could fix this. 1st I would let the unit thaw out could have ice built up on the air passage that wont allow the air to travel freely. Some caused by not having a good seal around the door.

Where is the defrost timer located on an Amana 25. Model # SR25E-1-L
Old model refrigerator have their defrost timer located at the back right upper corner or the left lower corner with a hole slot for a screw driver. New models have it inside the refrigerator near the thermostat control. It also has a hole slot for a screw driver.

Fridge trips the breaker after about 4-5 hours. What causes that?
Motor could be burning out and drawing too much power. If it's old not worth repairing.

Amana model TG18V1W Tried putting hasp on door to keep kids out and started to hiss and expand Inside . Still getting cold not freesing over don’t think I hit freon line there is no ice or water to it . I have done this before and had fridge with a hasp on it before Unplugged got freeze to room temp and plugged back in and getting cold plugged holes with silicone and blows back out
Most likely hit the water supply line to door.

My Amana model AC2228HEKB fridge freezer no longer controls the fridge temperature although the freezer is ok. The fridge temp. is 13 degrees despite the 3 degrees set temperature.
