How can I cancel service to my #7 kindle I lost it, want to protect myself
Go online to amazon.com Under the address bar you will see Your Account. Place cursor on it and click Manage content and devices from the list. It will show you a list of all you books. Next column has devices, click on it to get a list of your readers. Click the one you lost. It should bring up info about that device. Deregister should be listed. Sometimes you just get a button for "Actions", If you click that it will bring up deregister as a choice and you can click on that and fill out the info. Once it's no longer registered to you no one can download anything from you. I think it also fixes it so no one can register it.
How do I get books to download on my kindle
Does your kindle have cloud available? They could be hung up there. If you have cloud on the device it will show at top just above the list you have. press the cloud and go through list that come up. Anything you recognize as one you don't already have press it. You will see it goes to download and then come back to the cloud setting. You can collect all your missing Items at once or go back when you want the next one.
Trying to register it
My first kindle was the 2nd generation. It was already registered when I got it. The best thing I can tell you is to go to Amazon.com Under the address bar you will see "Your Account" Click Your account at top of list. One right side of screen click kindle help home, next screen Left side click Contact us. Fill in the info under call me. Someone will call you back and talk you through it. They are a breeze to work with.

I want to buy a new kindle but am concerned about transfering my books to the new kindle.
Two methods.
First: A computer is required. Connect the old Kindle to the computer it should show up as a new drive. Open that drive and find the books. Transfer them to the computer. Plug in new Kindle and do the same only transfer the transferred books from the computer onto the new Kindle.
Two: If you purchased the books from sources like Amazon, your books are saved on their cloud. Simply connect your new device and download all your books again.
Unable to download books on my kindle fire AND my e-mail address has changed
you will have to unregister the device from your old email address and log back in with the new one there should be a place in the settings to unregister the device then just log in with the current email address and all should be fine backup anything you want to keep first then you can put those things back on your kindle

My Kindle won't charge
If the battery isn't too far gone, here's how to revive it: Plug the device into the Kindle A/C adapter (not your computer) and let it charge for a few hours. Be sure the charging light is lit -- sometimes a drained Kindle will stop charging a few seconds after you plug it in. Unplug and replug until the light stays on steadily, then leave it alone. Most of the time you'll come back to a restored Kindle. If not, go on to step 2. If you still see the same Critical Battery screen after charging, unplug the USB cord, then hold the power slide to the right for at least 20 seconds. Release the power slide, then immediately press and hold the Home key for another 30 - 45 seconds. Once the Kindle's screen begins to flash, release the Home key. The eReader will boot to recovery mode. To continue, press and hold the R key until the screen flashes again. After the device is finished rebooting, you may see the Critical Battery screen once more. If so, plug in the USB cord and wait for the Kindle to return to the Home screen. - See more at:

How To Restore Your Kindle If It Experiences Critical Battery Error
f you can't get past step 3, the battery might be too far gone. Contact Kindle customer service via phone (866-321-8851) to walk through extra troubleshooting steps. If they can't revive it, Amazon will usually replace the eReader for free. - See more at:

Screen will not come on
When you say "tried all methods" does that include the "holding the power switch for 20 seconds then releasing" method? Just checking.
