Keep shredder moving forward.
Unplug, take top off and remove all visible bits of paper. Turn the top over and in the back, find the metal tab (see image). Ensure no paper bits are obstructing it, and using a dull tool, carefully press several times to ensure smooth movement. Replace top. Carefully adjust plastic paper detector so it's straight, not angled to one side. Also, every so often, run a sheet or two of wax paper through to lubricate the blades. Oil is messy and wax paper works just as well.

there is a lip at the top of the tiny window on the front. Pull it forward like you would pull a file cabinet drawer open. it might take a bit of muscle if it's jammed full of shreddings.

Shredder does not run in auto or reverse
Make sure the shredder is in the plastic bin that was delivered with the unit and is seated in the proper direction. The clear plastic on the bin should be considered the front on the bin and the power switch on the top would be considered the rear.

Replace the switch
First, look for any screw holes if not then it has an interlocking clips... so be careful when removing it... use proper tools
