Bosch demolition hammer wont hammer
MUCH NEWER BOSCH demolitionhammers have a special consumables kit you MUST use anyway its marketing technical made exactly on the calculated operating hours.
Every tools has his own kit and by the heavier models of powertools a very special lubricating oil instead of grease that was used by the older tools that are working with a
slower tapping block instead of a very fast battle piece.

11316 evs solid red light
Could be it is drawing too much amperage - that is what this control detects.
How long has it been since it was torn down & serviced - that is a possibility.
The other is more costly, it is possible you have a bad armature causing this as well. Remove the bottom cover where you replaced the brushes and examine the armature - look for burnt / raised segments or burnt windings.
Let me know what you find.
How do I remove the switch on the Bosch model 11316 to replace the cord?
The switch slide snaps in - use a screwdriver and gently pry up on the bottom of the switch slide, there is a tab on either side that will release and it will come out - you will find 2 more housing screws behind it to remove the handle and replace the cord.
The switch will go back in top first and give the bottom a tap to snap it back in place.
Bosch gbh5 will keep loosing its hammer
It sounds like the gearbox oil is getting low. The GBH5 uses oil in the gearbox, not a grease - the grease is used for assembly only. The correct type is a PG-150 (fully synthetic gear oil). Unable to find it in small quantities, I now use PAG150 oil for automotive a/c systems, it's available in small bottles. As for quantity, no-one seems to know... I just fill to cover the big bottom gears.
Takes long time to start hammer function
If the hammer function works once it warms up, then it's not broken - it's probably just plugged up with contaminants. You may need to disassemble to clean it out, although first I would get some Electrical parts spray , unplug unit, and soak down the inner workings while MANUALLY moving the shaft in and out, alternating spraying and moving. Let it finish dripping, then use a heat gun on low setting or a hair dryer on high setting to dry out the internals, then try again. Repeat procedure until hammer function works, then lubricate. You need to get the junk out before you lube, or it will make a bigger problem.
Hope this helps!
