Brother DCP - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support
My printer brother DCP-J315W status is offline, how do I change to online?
This one is really easy if you know what're you doing. Just go to your printer in control panel to bring up the print dialog. Go to printer at the top of page, drop down the menu and uncheck use printer off line. That should fix your problem.
If you still have issues with this particular model, you can always download this
neat manual. It really helped me a lot. Good luck!

How do i change the language?
I have Brother DCP-130C all in one Printer.
When I installed the
software I chose English as the language, but when i am scanning &
when i go into printing preferences it seems to be in German. I
un-installed & re-installed but still not in English.
Any ideas how I can change the language to english please?
Toner Life End message on DCP-7040
If your cartridge has a lever on the left side near the rear, it needs to be reset, and there's a lever inside on the left that can stick and cause that error. You need to wiggle and pull that lever until it moves freely again.
Toner Problem.
Is this a remanufactured/ compatible unit? I suspect that the toner reset lever on the cartridge has either not been installed or not properly set. return for another one
I have a printer dcp 7030 brother company i am
I just had this problem and fixed it. The original toner cartridge that comes with the printer cannot be reset. You have to buy at least one new cartridge. The reason is that the original cartridge that comes with the printer doesn't have a reset flag. You can, however, refill/reset a cartridge that you buy separately. Pull out the drum and lift the cartridge out of the drum. Hold the handle and look on the left end. You should see a crescent shaped hole with a white flag/lever. To reset this, move the white flag all the way to the left (I had to use something to push it). Put it back into the printer and voila - it fixes itself. Then, after the printer has been reset, you can use the original cartridge again, if you want. The flag part won't matter once the printer has been reset. I hope this is clear. I know it worked for me, and I had the exact same problem.
DCP 7030 printer says toner
What worked for me was to follow the instructions in this video:
Resetting lever on cartridge There is a lever on the left hand side of the toner cartridge (left hand side - with you holding the cartridge as if you were going to insert it into the printer). It seems that lever has to be at the '12 o'clock' position to tell the printer that you have a new cartridge. The video showed the person removing 3 screws and then ensuring the lever was at the '12 o'clock' position. On my cartridge I had to do some wiggling to get the lever to move as it's gear assembly seemed to want it to only move down to the '4 o'clock position' and then stay there. Eventually I got it moved to 12 o'clock - and when I stuck the toner back into the printer - the 'toner end of life' message went away. I then removed the toner cartridge - as I wanted to try another cartridge that I had also reset the lever on. I found that lever had again moved to the 3 or 4 o'clock position - after printing just one test page so I am guessing it being at the 12 o'clock position tells the printer you have a new cartridge - and then it moves over to the regular position at 3 or 4 o'clock..
Brother 130c print unable 50
Solution #1 is absolutely spot-on from adnanbhatti, copy the link into your browser to be able to see the photos of the printer and how to slide the print head:
http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/BSC/public/us/us/en/faq/faq/000000/000500/000065/faq000565_013.html?reg=us&c=us&lang=en&prod=dcp130c_all&Cat=11
When I slid the print head over as specified, I found a little crumpled paper fragment soaked with ink. Pulled it out.... I turned on the printer, it ran a cleaning cycle automatically, and started printing just fine!
Dcp 7020 and 7040 toner life end message premature, need override
When the Toner Life End LED flips on, requires you to replace the cartridge,
even when there's still toner left in the cartridge. The machine
detects end of life by shining a light through from one side to the
other.
To circumvent the detection mechanism, remove the cartridge and put
a piece of masking tape over or jam a little bit of paper into the clear opening/circle on the right side
of the toner cartridge, and then pop the cartridge back in. Eventually,
you'll start seeing streaks, and then you'll know that the cartridge is
truly empty.
