Gwm 2.5 tci steed bakkie engine light comes on
You should get a diagnostics code reading done. Any auto repair shops should be able to help you. The engine light means there's an error code logged by the e.c.u and You can read these codes via the obd port with a simple code reader. Theerror codes displayed will have to be looked up on the web and this is how you determine what the car is moaning about. For example , the engine light can come on when your air filter is clogged so the ecu will realize that something is making it difficult for it to keep the air fuel ratio on target , then the ecu will save that error code , wich the mechanic reads , and then he will inspect the air intake side of things , discover the clogged filter , change it with a feesh filter , then erase that error code and proceed to start up the car to see if the error code prevails , if its gone , it means the problem was solved, if the light comes back on and same error codes come up , then you must dig deeper.
what you can do is do a hard reset ( at your own risk). The hard reset im referring to remove battery terminal + then you are to put it on again for like 2 or 3 seconds, then remove for a second then put it on again, this is repeated 10 times, then leave it off for a good 10 seconds , put it back , fasten it properly, then start your vehicle and see what happens.
