Check the back wall of the freezer, I would suspect the beginnings of or a full-on defrost failure... Question edited for clarity, MAKER. Question moved to Model Category. Your fridge freezer has three fans. The compressor evaporator fan cuts in and out as required to maintain temperature. The fridge evaporator circulation fan runs to maintain an even temperature. It stops when to open the door and resumes when you close it and stops when the set temperature is reached as long as the compressor isn't running. If the compressor is running, the fan normally runs to prevent icing which happens slowly. The freezer also has a fan, and that runs pretty much all the time unless target temperature is met and the compressor is not running. This fan runs when you open the door to stop the moist air from the room freezing on contact to the 0'F, -18'C evaporator fins. The fan keeps the air moving to deposit less frost. It sounds like your is running normally except for the noise. Trace the noise and find it. The compressor fan has a Shark Paper fibre board cover and these often distort over time and touch the fan blades. That is the common cause. The less common cause is the internal fans pinging off built up ice that should have been removed during the defrost cycle.

Without the model number I'm not sure how to answer your question. Does your model have fans that blow warm air on the outside bottom or a front kick plate? What is your model number? Kenmore has model numbers like this example=> 123.3214567 If the fan has a restriction that causes a lack of airflow it can cause the hot Freon liquid that normally flows around the Yoder Loop inside edges of the freezer door to prevent frost buildup to become very hot because the condenser fan is defective or coils are dirty with dust restricting airflow. Within your Frigidaire freezer the error code "FF" stands for freezer failure. I would perform a reset on your appliance which can be done by either unplugging the power cord or flipping the household circuit breaker. Once the freezer has come back on you should be able to push the "Down" button three times to start it back up.

Could you please recheck for the model number. R134A is a reference to the coolant used in the freezer mechanism. Orange is often a reference to the 'Fast Freeze' function being turned On. Green is showing the freezer unit is at the correct temperature. Red is warning the freezer is Too warm. Some freezers are fitted with an 'Economy' function where the freezer can be run at a lower power level when not used regularly such as when on holiday.
