Pretty much what it sounds like, the thermometer in the freezing chamber (barrel) died, and you can't operate until it is replaced. Drain all yogurt and clean and unplug. You need to call a technician out; call 800.255.0626 to find out your local service center.

I would look at the motor itself. You will have to remove the cover and see what is happening. What I would be looking for is a loose motor mount or a missing/broken off mounting bolt.
