BUFFALO TOOLS 2000 WATT GENERATOR 12 VOLT OUTPUT BUT NO AMPS WILL NOT EVEN LIGHT A 12 VOLT TEST LIGHT BUT VOLT METER READS 12 V.D.C. WHAT IS WRONG ? PLEASE HELP.LABEL SAYS FOR 12 VOLT BATTERY CHARGING

have the voltage regulator system checked in the regulator the voltage controls the amperage allowed and it that unit is not working properly then there will be no current out put that regulator could be part of the control board for the main ac out put and may have developed a fault in the section for 12 volts on the board there is a limit on the charge rate for the battery and if it is exceed it may have damaged that circuit or possible blown a fuse in the amperage circuit

Have a 4000 watt sportsman generator that will not produce electric i have replaced the avr what next

Could be lost exciter current. This is how to restore it - Connect 16 or 18 gauge wires to a 12 volt battery. With generator running, insert bare ends of wires into AC outlet - one to Hot, the other to Neutral. Insert and remove quickly. There should be a flash and power will be restored. If not, repeat until you get that flash and output current restored. Using light gauge wires is so that if you are too slow to remove them once AC is restored. they will burn out before the battery suffers from the AC incoming. Be quick and be careful.

My portable generator runs great but only produces

Assuming the speed is correct check the voltage on the rotor brushes during running (Caution) It should be DC. If you have low or no DC voltage then the capacitor in the end of the generator housing is bad, or the AVR. If you do have voltage then make sure the slip rings are clean and shiny, from there you may have a rotor or stator issue that needs carefull resisitance check

Replace the pull rope

That is the fun part! You have to leave the handle end free, as in no handle on it, put a good knot in one end of your new pull cord, feed it through the hole in the pulley, feeding it out so you can pull it back into the space where the pulley is. Should be a slot on the pulley to bring it up in. Wind pulley against spring, same direction as normally pulled when starting, will need three to six rounds, can't tell how many cause it varies. Stick cord out hole to where handle should be while keeping tension on spring so you don't lose it. Tie handle on and try it. You may have to adjust rounds against spring and length of cord until you get it right. Good luck!

Sportsman pressure washer

1. Check the power supply.

2. Check the water supply.

3. Inspect all hoses.

4. Take a look at the inlet valve.

5. Check the intake filter.

6. Inspect the nozzle.

7. Inspect the gun.

8. Check the power pump, unloader, regulator, and other valves.

Diagnosis takes this order because the things at the top of the list are more common and much easier to check. That's the good news when it comes to looking over your pressure washer. Most pressure and other performance issues will be caused by something small and simple like a clogged nozzle.

Even components like regulators and unloaders are fairly simple to replace, and can be done by confident workmen an homeowners. Once problems boil down to a power pump issue, it's usually best that the pressure washer see a shop.

Because the problems of and solutions to symptoms are so varied, we just list them below without any particular order, although we list the most common symptoms and causes first.

Honda Parts.
