My camera screen went black and I have no functions. I open up the compartment door to remove the card and it beeps like it is processing even though camera is turned off and no red lights are on. I
I cannot give you a straight answer. It all depends. You cannot tell for sure what has happened and in which phase of the file writing things happened to go wrong. If it's just stuck there, it might be possible that it already finished writing but stays in a loop. What it does by writing is to first look in the FAT-table on the disc wich places can be used to write data. If it found area's, it starts writing and at the end it will update that same FAT-table that the space it occupies cannot be used anymore. If you stop in that proces, chances are that the FAT-table gets corrupted and the card will give an error when you try to read. No big problem as every disc tool can rebuild a FAT-table from the data thats been stored on the disc. If there was a more severe error that started overwriting data on the disc in a unpredictable manner, you're doomed. Either way, no other option than to remove the battery, remove the card an see what's the damage and try to recover the images......
Afterwards, just format the card and test it. Card may still work after that.
Good luck!
My Canon 1000D won't operate even when turned on.
I can help you fix the
BUSY Error or
Error 99 of your Canon EOS Rebel XS / Canon EOS 1000D.
Installation of this Canon EOS Rebel XS / Canon EOS 1000D firmware version 1.06 update will solve these problems:
- Some cameras may exhibit a phenomenon in which the LCD monitor does not display, the shutter does not release, and the BUSY indication remains lit in the viewfinder.
- The message, "Err 99 Shooting is not
possible. Turn the power switch to<OFF> and <ON> again or
re-install the battery", appears on the camera's LCD monitor, and after
the above operation is carried out,the LCD monitor displays in a
language that is different from the actual language setting.

Whats the best economical lens to use for indoor photograph with
If you are new to photography in general and especially SLR photography
I would suggest holding off on buying any lenses besides the 18-55mm.
The reason I suggest not buying extra lenses just yet is coz you need
to get to know your camera and if you are new to SLR photography then
you need to get your fundamentals right. Sure the 400D will let you
shoot in full auto mode but you will really not learn much doing that
and certainly not be making the most of your camera in that process and
that will extend to your new lenses too.
Get used the the control, the 18-55 is a great little cheap lens with
the pop up flash it will work great for most family pics. The 55-200mm
is a new "cheap" lens, its been marketed as letting you go beyond 55mm
thats why it starts at 55mm goes to 200mm.
Hope this helps you...
Why would my Auto focus mirror not folding up completely.
The mirror is designed to fully swing from top to bottom with out any interference unless something was jammed inside. If you are shooting with the lens off and watching the mirror only partially open something is jammed and needs repair. To test this put the camera in Manual mode ( M on the mode selector dial) Set the shutter speed to 1/4 of a second and press the shutter button. Having a slow shutter will allow you to see if it is fully opening and closing.
If you are making this assumption based on seeing images that have only a portion of the frame exposed, then the most likely scenario is you are taking pictures with the flash on at a shutter speed greater than 1/250 of a second. This causes the flash to fire before the shutter is fully open and therefore only part of the frame is exposed. Google "Shutter Sync Speed".
Good Luck
Unlock memory cardcard write prot
SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.
Red flashing light in the corner on canon rebel eos t3i
The flashing red light in the bottom right is the indicator that the camera is writing to the memory card. If you have shot in RAW this will take a little longer than recording a jpeg as the RAW files are larger. While this is happening the screen will go blank for a short time.
Err 02
Have you tried reformatting the card (full, not quick, format) in your computer? This will require you to have a CF reader, but they're so handy you should have one anyway.
