This appears to be a deeper problem than can be fixed with advice on here. I suggest you take it for a professional repair. Check the repair estimate with the value of the camera.

Sounds like a corrupt card Sometime a format may help but you will loose all the images on the card.

You do this in your editor. In photoshop you go Image -> Image Size and you'll see resolution set at 300 as default just change the 300 to 72.

You don't give any details, error message? if it is the same has the 550d, hold the camera has if you're taking a photo. look at the flash shoe, on the right hand side under the grouve where the extrenal flash slides in there is a tiny button switch if that is stuck the builtin flash will not work

Hi Carol, There are two things that I can think of which will prevent you from sighting through the view finder. 1. When your camera is switched on for live-view shooting mode or vice versa. That is, you can only see the subject in the LCD screen or through the view finder one at a time. 2. If you are using the LCD screen to frame your subject and you encounter this problem, it is most likely caused by the settings of the camera. Try increasing the ISO to around 400 or above, reduce the shutter speed to anything below 1/20 and the aperture to around F:5.6 or less (that depends on your lens. Find the function in the menu the says remove all camera setting Use this to get back to factory settings.

This could be to do with the type of lights you are using and not the camera.

You may have the card locked Find the small switch on the card to ensure it is not in the lock position.

Error Code 30 indicates that a Malfunction related to the shutter has been detected.

Error Code 80 on the 5D II indicates the a Malfunction related to the electric control of images has been detected.

In the menu you will find a setting that says remove all camera settings.

Use the menu to unprotect the image then you can delete. Also you can format the card but that will remove all the images on the card so make sure you've saved it elsewhere.

There is a very small lock switch on the SD card make sure it is not on lock.

press menu 5th menu along select item 1 up from bottom (live view function setting), select enable then quit menu press set button to activate live view
