2. click the bottom button to reset the timer
3. pull the crown out all the way
4. twist the crown forward hard and fast for a few seconds. The minute hand will start advancing very quickly.
5. when the desired date and time is reached, push the crown back in place. If you missed the time, pull the crown back out and twist backwards. The minute hand will move slowly in reverse. If you twist hard and fast, the minute hand will start spinning in reverse again.

There is nowhere to get a Cartier dial from, other than Cartier.
Options:
1 - Pay the $400 for the genuine dial.
2 - Buy a 2nd hand watch off eBay to use for spare parts.
3 - Have your dial repainted.
Dial repaints can be a bit hit and miss with quality though. Talk to the watchmaker and ask who they use to do it. Should be 1/2 the price of a new dial.

no need for serial number- look on the dial, if the 'x' marking the ten o'clock has 'cartier' written on it, your watch should most definately be authentic.

Visit an authorized Cartier watch dealer at a high-end jewelry store. Use a jeweler's loupe to inspect the Cartier logo, the dial, the hour, minute and second hands, color, case back and the movement, which is the small electronic or mechanical device that runs the watch. Also examine the bracelet or strap for future comparisons of Cartiers at other dealers. Obtain a copy of the Cartier sales brochure or catalog and read it.

replace the clasp, I see it all the time in this model watch. I usually charge $50.00 for the clasp for these watches, It can be adjusted but it will loosen within the next year or less.

Does the watch have a battery, if it does it is a signal to change battery. Mine jumps 5 seconds at a time when battery low. Not sure if a watch like that has a battery.

What has been the issue when the repairs have been done? My experience with Tanks is that any reputable watch shop will replace the battery for $20. I don't know why it has cost you so much, but if the model you have is an auto-winder, then there is no way to retrofit a battery - although for $600 someone may be able to change the internal watch out completely.
