I am trying to figure out how to connect my

DHCP and static IP are two different things. DHCP assigns IP addresses, and static Ip just means that the IP address stays the same, and is not dynamic. You probably need to reset the modem to accept what it sees as a :"new" router. Turn off both router and modem. Restart the modem first, give it a minute to boot up, then turn on the router- in that order. It should be ok now.

Windows 7 Atheros network adapter will not connect to WRT54GS Linksys Router

First, use a lan calble to reach the router. Then check the settings on the router and see what ip address is assigned to your laptop. Also check the password setting on the router. Try using WPS as an alternative to setting up the password, etc. WPS will work with either a pin number or push button. It should solve your problem. If not, then use the first solution, although it may be a little more complicated for you. Last thing you can do is go to into Microsoft's network and sharing center, and choose "manage wireless networks" and make sure the adapter is "enabled".

CISCO WAP200 constantly loses connection

Your printer is probably going into "sleep" mode after "X" minutes, which may be causing the problem. Use the led interface on the printer to keep it out of sleep mode and that may help.

Hi, After flashing dd-wrt.v24-15508_NEWD-2_K2.6

Since you flashed your router, you need to reset your modem as well, so it recognizes the "New" router. Turn off both router and modem. Turn on modem first, give it a minute to boot up, then turn on router and you should be ok.

Desktop pc windows 7 sp 1 wired cisco dpc 3008 no additional devices random connections

I would first get a new Ethernet cable and try it. If that doesn't fix it, call your cable company and have them do a diagnostic from their end. They can tell if it is their equipment or not. It their modem is OK, and the Ethernet cable is OK, then your LAN (Ethernet) card is either going bad, or possibly not completely inserted in the socket. To check: turn off and unplug your PC. Take the side off, look where the Ethernet cable goes into your computer. If it is on the motherboard, you may want to get a LAN card and use it instead of the onboard. If the cable goes into a card plugged into one of the slots, make sure it is fully inserted. If it is, you may want to get a new card.

How to change password on Cisco router E3200

A Cisco E3200 has a default IP of 192.168.1.1 Make sure you are connected to the router through an ethernet cable if you dont know the current wifi password yet. Enter that number into your browsers address bar exactly as I had shown. It will ask you for a username and password. Usually for the E3200, the default user and pass are both " admin ", so you should be able to log in rather quick. From there you can find the security settings and change the password which will look like WPA Key or WPA2-PSK depending on personal preference. You should choose WPA2-PSK, as its the strongest in terms of security and cannot be hacked easily. I am using Linksys Wireless- N (wrt120) and my download speed seems to work great but when I browse the internet my pages won't load. Sometimes they will load very slowly. It seems like the connection

There may be competing wireless routers or networks nearby on the same band. Within the router's interface, try switching to a different band (2.4 Ghz vs. 5.0 Ghz) or use different radio channels. By default the router will attempt to do this automatically, but you may want to try adjusting them yourself and see what you get.

How do I reset PW and username for Linksys, Cisco WRT 7160 router

To factory reset a router, there should be a reset button on the back of the unit near the power button. Usually you can press and hold this with a pen or pencil (or bent paperclip point) while the unit is plugged in, then unplug the router while holding the reset button down and power it back on. Do this for about 5-10 seconds and it should return it to factory spec.

How to retrieve Cisco router password without losing configuration?

Need help to recover the forgotten password of your Cisco router? The following guide will help you restore the password without losing your router configuration. To retrieve the password, you will require rebooting your router many times. It means stoppage, but it is the best step to reset the password. At first, you need to connect the first end of the standard light blue cable to the power port and the other end to the 'Console' port on the back of your router. After connecting the devices, you need to make a serial connection to the router. For that, you need the following settings: Baud: 9600 Parity: No Data bits: 8 Stop bits: 1 Flow Control: None To recover the Cisco router password, check the following steps:- 1.Restart your Cisco router and press the 'Break' key to conflict the boot order. Input config 0x2142. It conveys the router to avoid NVRAM in the boot process. It won't load your current configuration. 2.Enter reset to restart your router. When asked to run the setup process, choose 'No.' Enter 'Copy Start, Run.' It loads the beginning setup into memory. 3.Now, if you enter the 'Show Run Config,' it will show you the router settings. Also, you should consider that the router name is in the prompt rather than the default 'Router.' 4.Type the 'enable secret new password' to change the enabled secret, and then enter the 'config-register 0x2102' to modify the registry settings back to 0x2102. 5.Once your router restarts, it will load the old settings along with the new password. Now, you need to save it so that it will continue during restarts. 6.Enter copy run start. Type Reload at the prompt to reboot the Cisco router. Now, note down the password to keep them safe. However, if the steps as given above fail to recover the Cisco router password without losing the configuration or you need the help of experts, you can call on the genuine Cisco customer care number listed on the Contactforhelp to get the direct support of experts for recovering the password quickly.
