Check for a fuse inside the plug that you put into the cigar lighter. The silver end where the prong comes out should unscrew and hold a fuse in it.

I would try to steal one from a mechanical ink pen and cut it to length. Worth a shot.

This is a Citizens Band (CB) channel and the indicator is informing you on what channel your radio is set to. Most often used when traveling in pair/group to make sure all can listen/chime in for directions, law enforcement/accident up ahead.

Mostly all radar detector manufacturers include reverse polarity protection. Check your fuse in the power cord, chances are the fuse blew.

Mute shuts off sound warning of radar, The left top button is for dimming the display, the right top button is for city or highway selection, the C light comes on in CITY mode to reduce microwave interference X/K and Ka are radar indicators. L is for laser. The bars at the bottom show the strength of the signal. VS is a radar detection detector or warning of an emergency vehicle.

I didn't know there was a Cobra Radar Detector that has built in GPS guidance. You'll need to update the maps, or purchase a new GPS. Yours may have issues locking onto the GPS signal, or calculating the route. If you don't have lifetime map updates, you may be able to purchase a new map download from manufacturer. However, it may make more sense to put the money toward a new model.

Buy a new one. A spring or part of the connector likely fell out when it split open. They only cost $5 or, go to Goodwill and get one for a buck.

It could be picking up garage door openers, which are a common false alert for radar detectors. In a neighborhood, there are all sorts of sensors that give off false alarms. I usually turn mine off when driving through a neighborhood as police are less likely to be using radar (unless in a school zone).

To the original poster, the officer could have used laser, vascar, or pacing to issue a speeding ticket. The officer also could have used a very quick burst of instant-on radar which Cobra brand radar detectors are notorious for not detecting. The officer also could have used a 35.5 Ka band radar gun. Cobra and other import brands of radar detectors usually have great difficulty detecting 35.5 Ka band radar.

just calibrate it with another compass .you can brow one or just check it with a compass application installed on iPhone
