Does 3d card works in optiplex 755 system?
Hi.
Yes, 3d carsd will work in your computer, the only thing you have do is check and make sure that the computer can supply the power requirements for the card.
Some of the video cards run off of the system bus, while others require a seperate power lead attached to them, the same way you plug in power to a hard drive.
Both of the major manufacturers ATI, and NVIDIA, both make 3d cards that will work with your system.
The cards are all pci-e , as this is the fastest bandwidth the system provides for expansion cards.
Something else you will want to look at when upgrading, is what operating system you will be running it on.
Some of the lower prices video cards, even though they might support 3d, they may not support directx 11.
This is crucial if you are running Windows 7, because that is the version that 7 runs on.
Vista runs on dx 10, and xp and below can only run up to directx 9.
Just keep this in mind while shopping.
Both Best Buy, and Fry's carry large selections of 3d capable cards, just remember about the power requirements before you buy.
I hope this answers your question, and gives you some ideas as to which kind of card yo get.

usb or ps2 keyboard ? might need to be enabled in BIOS If you want to use a USB keyboard to access Windows command prompt options, make changes in the BIOS (Basic Input/Output System), or to operate legacy operating systems, you must enable support for the device inside the BIOS. Shut down the computer and disconnect the USB keyboard. Connect a PS/2 keyboard to the PS/2 connector port on the rear of the computer. Turn on the computer and press the "Delete" key several times as soon as you see the initial boot or company logo screen. Wait for the main BIOS setup screen to appear. Press the right or left arrow keys to move the cursor to the "Advanced" or "Advanced Settings" menu option. Press the "Enter" key. Move the cursor to the "Integrated Peripherals" or "Peripheral Configuration" menu option. Press the "Enter" key. Press the down-arrow key to navigate to the "USB Controllers" option. Press the "+" or "-" key to change the menu option to "Enabled." Move the cursor to the "USB Legacy Support" or "USB Legacy Function" field. Press the "+" key repeatedly until the value option changes to "Enabled." Press the "F10" key to save changes to the BIOS settings and exit the setup utility. Wait until the computer begins to restart and then press the power button and hold it for approximately four or five seconds. The computer shuts down completely. Unplug the PS/2 keyboard from the computer and set it aside. Reconnect the USB keyboard restart the computer. As soon as you see the initial boot screen, tap the "Delete" key several times and wait for the BIOS setup screen to appear. If you are able to access the BIOS setup screen with the USB keyboard, USB support is active in the BIOS.
ALL I KNOW IS ITS A DELL OPTIPLEX 960 AND I TRIED TO DO A REBOOT BY HITTING F2 AND THEN HOLDING ALT AND F AT THE SAME TIME.
Hi Tiffany,
it sounds like there has been some sort of corruption of the files on the hard disk. You should see about booting from the Windows installation CD / DVD and copying all the files that are of importance to you (documents, photos, music, etc.) on to an external hard drive connected to the USB port or installed as a slave drive internally. Once you have saved all the files you need, shut off the PC and disconnect / remove the drive with your files. Then reinstall Windows again. Once done, shut off the PC and reconnect the drive with your files and copy them back to the hard drive and you should be good to go unless he drive is beginning to fail - in which case purchasing a new hard drive would be a good idea.
