my guess would be "filter" check to see if it needs changing or is clogged.

We had excactly the same problem a couple of times recently with a lot of troubleshooting,like adjsusting grinder, reseting the to factory settings, and many more and we end up that it was a problem with pcb control board which lost the preset timing of grinding thus the coffee grinding where about 3-4 sec and the correct one shold be about 8-9 sec. Sometimes they have a external fuse which is close to where the wire goes in. Or, the element has failed. Do you have a digital multimeter? Both items are easy to test. Just had the same problem after washing my ESAM5500. Seems that some water hot on the switch that is triggered when grounds container is inserted. My solution was removing the bottom panel (5 screws if I remember correctly) and disconnect the green wire from the switch (there are three wires - green, ping and blue). When the green wire is disconnected, coffee maker thinks that grouns container is inserted all the time - even if it is removed.

There is no way to turn off the beeping.

According to the De'Longhi UK website, the error message "Close Door" could be caused by two issues : The brewing unit is not installed properly in the unit. You can try turning the unit off, remove and reinstall the brew unit, and then turn the unit back on to see if it reset itself. Ground coffee beans can squirrel their way into hard to reach places in a grinder and cause problems. I think it is clogged with grounds. Remove the beans. Reseat the burr (grinder).
