you can have a colder joint in the circuit input. Try to clean from oxide, corrosion. and of course to reheat the solder.Test the cables for open or oxide too and clean with contacts spray cleaner. Merry Christmas.

this unit has a internal fuse that has probably blown and is in need of replacement if this doesent cure the problem i would contact the manufacturer of this unit for further repair suggestions. ok?

Sometimes a power surge can hit the unit and cause the internal components to fry. This is especially true when there has bee any type of power fluctuation. Always plug your components in through a high rated joules power protector. I am afraid you are right, if the fan nor the light comes on then the circuit board is toast. You might be able to get it repair pretty cheap at a tv repair center. Check your power cords and see if it is getting the proper voltage. If not then your projector is safe, if it is, then the cords needs to be replaced.
