Where are 2 fuses on a Dyson V11. My V11 won't turn on. I've replaced the battery and put on a new filter.

This confirms there are 2 fuses but not where? Is There A Fuse In My Dyson? Yes, there are 2 fuses in your Dyson vacuum that you should know about. The first is a standard electrical fuse that prevents damage from faults like short circuits and power surges. The second is a thermal fuse that prevents the vacuum motor from overheating and damaging the appliance. There are two disassembly videos here that _should_ show the location. https://www.google.com/search?q=dyson+v11+fuse+location ..

Dyson DC44 Animal - Will not run continuously, cut in and out?

Its also routinely a loose battery connection. If you turn on the unit and just giggle the battery unit below and it shuts off, then you have this problem. I fixed mine by gently pushing the main battery posts (on the motor unit side) apart a bit to give it a more solid contact with the battery contacts. Also on both the motor unit and battery ends they have 3 contact points as well. Not sure what these are for, but i scraped both ends of the 3 contact slides to ensure no corrosion was affecting electrical transfer. So far it runs flawlessly again.

Why won't my Dyson DC23 turn on? I have checked the breaker and everything is in working order. It was turning on and off the last time I used it.

Hi Donna. You've made a good start in making sure the outlet is working. The manual can be seen here: Dyson stowaway DC23 Helpline Manual The thing I pick up on in particular is your saying that the unit was turning on and off the last time you used it. Based on a number of repair and troubleshooting forums, it sounds like the unit was overheating, or close to overheating before. There is a thermal-cut-out switch to keep the unit from overheating to the point of damage, or, worse, starting a fire. If the interlock has kicked in, it can take 30 minutes to an hour for the unit to cool enough to reset the switch. Common things are common, and rare things are rare. With that in mind, the most likely causes of overheating are:
  1. Blockage somewhere in the vacuum line.
  2. The brush head being jammed / trying to turn when something is impeding it.
  3. Clogged filters.
First rule - unplug the vacuum when working on it. After that,
  1. Remove the various bits of tubing, u-bends, and such, and make sure that they are clear - no paper wads, hair clumps, or such. For long stretches of the tubing, a long bent coat hanger (marshmallow roaster configuration) can be used to gently probe the long stretches.
  2. Try to rotate the brush - remove any obvious yarn, hair, string, rubber bands, etc, built up on the brush.
  3. Wash the filters. They are meant to be washed every few months. If they haven't been, they may be so clogged that the motor isn't drawing in enough air to cool itself.
That should give you a good start. If none of this works, there are toll free numbers to talk to Dyson support in the manual. Good luck, and Happy Holidays! D

DC23 Dyson Motorhead. The powerhead keeps shutting off. Figured I should by a new one. Same thing is happening with the brand new out of the box. What is the problem? How do I fix it?

Had this problem with my DC 23. It turned out to be a problem with power getting to the head. In the part of the hose that swivels, there are contacts inside that become loose. All I did was take that connection apart, bend the metal connectors so they will have a tighter fit and put it back together. I have had to do it twice since the first time I had the issue, but you can always replace the hose.

When i'm vacuming on carpet the brush bar stops after about 6 pushes, then the brush bar stops and seems to stop going round, which makes this so hard for me to push.

Sounds like the little motor that drives the brush is going bad. You need to replace the cleaner head.

Dyson dc21 motorhead stopped working

Remove the motor head from the extension pipe and look carefully at the mounting hole the pipe plugs into. Next to the main hole there should be 2 pin connectors, either above it or below it. This is the power supply connector for the head unit. GENTLY use your finger to try and move these pins, they should not move. Sometimes these pins can break and stop the motor working. Sadly they cannot be repaired so you might have to replace the whole motorhead.

Dyson dc25 animal - head won't stay on the floor - doesn't seem to be rotating correctly

I am having the same issue in 2022. Dyson says I have to buy a new machine. EVERYTHING else works perfectly and I can vacuum the floors IF I hold it almost upright. Who can clean a 2,000 square foot house with hardwood, tile and carpet like that?? Not me! I cannot believe this can't be fixed in this day and age. Am I to take it to the recycle center? What about the perfectly good 8 attachments I have for it? If I get a new one, it will come with 4 or 6 of the same attachments. This is a total waste of money in this day and age -- to say nothing of disposing it in the landfill!!! I AM NOT HAPPY with Dyson at the moment.

Clogged filter

I found that the rubber seal on the bottom of my cyclone is not properly seated to the bottom of canister, I guessed when I removed the clear canister bin completely from cyclone unit for cleaning, I put the cyclone down on the floor and rubber seal accidentally move upward just a little. this creates a small gap on the bottom when I reassembled it, (since seal is up from it original position a little). I pulled rubber seal down to its original position, you will notice that there should not be a gap on the bottom at all, this way you do not have to clean or should not have to clean the filter but once a month or even less.

Dyson DC44. My charging light doesn't light up on my Dyson and I have just bought a new battery thinking that was the problem but no, the problem still exists.

Claim on warranty, forge an invoice. The quality of modern units especially the rechargeable stick vacs are the pits! I remember the days when James Dyson made them in Wales and they had a lifetime warranty. Now they are made in Indonesia for a bowl of rice!

Dc28 won't recline

You DO NOT have to take your machine to a "certified technician" to fix this problem. Stand behind your machine, lean over and look at the front: Right in the center of the slit between the machine and the beater bar head, you will see a black tab. Simply slide a thin, flat-head screwdriver down and magically the machine will release. NOW: once it\'s released, simply examine the area where your screwdriver JUST slid down...see the dirt and gunk? DON\'T follow the MANY suggestions of adding lubricant "which only works for a short while" (by their own admission) WIPE AWAY THE DIRT AND GUNK and voila! YOU are now a "certified technician" and you didn\'t have to sit through any technical school to get there! You go girl!!!!!!!

My dyson is fully charged bin emptied and cleaned but will not turn on now. Never had this problem before.

A good troubleshooting technique with vacuum cleaners is to flip it over and instead of focusing on the bag, you focus on the road heading mechanism that catches all the dirt and debris. Go and use scissors and or a knife to try to make sure that the rotating mechanism is able to spin freely then you can get the vacuum cleaner over and try to turn it on again to see if it’ll work after that.
