Using a Spirit level check the surface it stands on is level. Some turntables have adjustable feet to help with this. I had a turntable where the arm would repeatedly slide to the middle. Once I levelled it out it worked perfectly.

DId you ever get this figured out? I picked up one of these at a second hand shop with almost no sound from the phonograph but after I changed the needle the sound is great. EXCEPT that it does exactly what you described - have a hard time setting the arm down at the beginning of a 33 album and then it will swipe in about an inch. Fortunately I've been testing with an old scratched up album. Was going to take it apart and see if I could spot a faulty mechanism. Only does it at the very outer edge and feels like there's a motor resisting.

Whats the numbers on the transformor. Is it a step up or a step down. 110v or 220v 50hz or 60hz?

Ebay or amazon is the best chance. They have groups of belts that you can order. They might not all fit your application.

unfortunatly the mechanism is jammed up for one reason or the other reason #1 a cd is stuck inside #2 the gear just wore out and or it was forced closed by hand instead of pushing the eject/load button..you can try to gently pry this door open while pressing open/eject button that works 40% of the time..if it does not work? it can then be deemed broken out of order. it's worth a shot trying to pry it open but beware this could either work or really destroy the door/mech/player comes down to this "do you feel lucky" sadly? that's where we're at with this one.

When you move the headphone plug around and the sound cuts in and out that usually means that the terminals in the jack have corrosion on them. You can usually clean the jack with contact cleaner that is sold in home improvement stores. Here's a video showing how to clean the headphone jack on a phone but the process is the same for any device that uses a headphone.
