Speaker ceackles. do i need to replace it? if so,
You can try to turn the volume down alittle bit, if that doesnt work, or you cant hear it with a lowered volume, it would be better and probably cheaper to buy a new phone, then to replace the handset speaker.
Although, Radioshack or another small electronics store might be able to fix it, or maybe sell a speaker that will fit and have the correct specs for the phone. but chances are, they will have to order it, and it may end up costing as much or close to as much as it would to just buy a new phone.
I would stay away from Ericsson, and Uniden phones, they seem to have problems.
If you can afford a good phone, I would recommend, Clarity, Panasonic, Vtech, Clear One, or SBC brand phones. Also, try to stay away from the 2.4GHz phones, and the Analog phones. I would recommend a DECT 6.0 Panasonic phone or a DECT 6.0 Carity phone.
The 2.4Ghz is a high traffic frequency, if you ever had your FM radio on and thought you heard someone talking to someone else in the background of the actual stations program... thats because you were, and the person you was listening to lived in your area, and had a 2.4Ghz cordless phone.
The 5.8Ghz phones are alot better quality, a lower traffic frequency, but its the same frequency as microwaves, so if you are running your microwave while you are on the phone, it can make it very staticy, and unable to make out anything.
DECT 6.0 phones are the best sound quality, as its a almost unused frequency, can travel alot further then the 5.8 or 2.4, and is just overall better.
