Fluidmaster Plumbing - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support
I've just installed a Fluidmaster
The first thing I would check is to make sure that the body of the float or the linkage that connects the float to the top of valve are not rubbing on inside of the tank and stopping it from moving freely.
Also when tank is full hold float down so that all air that is inside the top of the float is let out. I hope this hepls you. Thanks.
Leaking faucet connection
Although it looks like the leak is coming from the hose side, it might still be coming from the swivel nut. Snug it up no more than 1/8th of a turn. If leak persists, snug it again. If still leaking, replace the supply flex.
Fluidmaster
First shut water off at stop than flush all the water out of the tank next take a sponge and get all the water out of tank next unsrew the supply line from the valve under tank than move out of the way next unsrew the nut on the valve of fluidmaster than pull the fluidmaster out of tank stick the new fluidmaster in tighten nut srew the supply line back on turn on stop and let the tank fill up thats it if the fluidmaster dont shut off press the handle let some water out and adjust the fluidmaster screw Tip the water should stop a 1/4 inch below the flush valve tube in center of toilet
Toilet not filling with water
If the tank is not filling you probably have to replace the fuild master in the tank. They get clogged up with dirt or hard water calcium build ups.
Transmission fluid blowing out of dipstick tube
Sounds like you may have overfilled your transmission. I would take the vehicle to a transmission shop and have the fluid changed out. Many shops run periodic specials on this type of thing.
Flap closes too quickly
Get a different flapper that has a reservoir on top to hold some water as a counterweight that has a hole in the bottom to let the water out slowly. Or get the type that has an adjustable foam float. Keep the chain as short as you can without preventing it from sealing.
Bought a new fludmaster cistern float vallve but
You have to twist the unit before you install it to match the height of the old ballcock. You must have made it too tall and hence the water level has to be centimeters higher than the overflow tube to shut off.
After the installment when you
Most people have trouble with the flapper falling too fast and they get one with a float on it or one that drains water on the counterweight to keep it up long enough. It sounds like yours stays open too long. Get a flapper that will fall fast without any gimmicks on it. the shorter the chain is to the flush handle the better too.
What do I do if the toilet continues to draw water and the water level on the fluidmaster 400 is properly set?
First is the water overflowing the overflow tube? This would indicate that the ballcock or flow master needs a seal or that it is rubbing the side of the tank (if it is rubbing the side of the tank twist it slightly). If the water level is always below the top of the tube but the flow master keeps on filling in bursts then you need to replace the flapper. Flappers will decompose slowly and black residue will come off to the touch. Wear gloves because this black will be on your hands for days. The flapper gets a slight ripple or curve that allows water to get by.
